    APPLICATION

    Current / voltage instrument transformers type JUK 123a are intended for measurement and circuit protection ofhigh voltage line substations with the highest voltage of 123 kV at 50 Hz frequency, in effectively earthed andcompensated systems. The combined Instrument transformers are one-phase devices for outdoor application intemperate climate - temperatures from 233 K (-40 C) up to 314 K (+40 C), humidity up to 100% at 303 K(+30 C), altitudes up to 1000 m above the sea level.

    DESIGN

    Current / voltage instrument transformer type JUK 123a consists of a current and voltage modules enclosed in acommon aluminum, hermetic casing filled with transformer oil. The casing consists of the following parts:

    - bottom tank with voltage transformer- porcelain or composite insulator- head with current transformer- shielded expansion bellows.

    The bottom aluminum tank is equipped with current and voltage secondary contacts and terminals of equi-potentialscreens. Terminal blocks make it possible to connect up to 10mm

    2wires and can be equipped with fuses for

    voltage or surge arresters for current circuits. The voltage and current circuit contacts which are meant for poweraccounting can be sealed up.The terminal box is equipped with two cable glands PG 21 (the choke range from dim.13 mm up to dim.18 mm) ortwo glands PG29 (choke range from dim.18 mm to dim. 25 mm). The hollow insulator is made of brown porcelainand has a creepage distance for III class of pollution. On request a silicone hollow insulator with creepage distancefor IV class of pollution can be used. The primary current terminals are located in the aluminum head of thetransformer.The P2/A terminal is common for voltage and current transformers. The terminals can be executed as either stud(copper, dim. 30 or 40 mm) or flat clamp (made of aluminum) type. Standard dimensions of a flat terminal areshowed on the drawing below. The expansion bellows, located in the upper part of a transformer and made ofstainless steel compensate for thermal changes of oil-volume. Main electrical insulation is made of electrical gradecable paper which is impregnated with transformer oil. On request the transformer can be equipped withcoordinating spark gap, two secondary terminal boxes, different types of secondary terminals (e.g. screwed type),covers for sealing and other dimensions and number of cable glands. Depending on thermal currents values,reconnection ratio and the number of cores and their parameters the current / voltage instrument transformer maybe executed as:
