ConversDigital’s Mconnect wireless module provides the complete solution for connected audio products such aswireless music receivers, smartphone docking stations and component audio. This allows you to focus on designing quality audio productswhile the connectivity is dealt with by a complete module that will keep pace with future developments in smart phone operating systems andcomputer networking.

The Mconnect wireless module receives audio files over the network in a variety of formats including MP3, AAC, ATRAC,WMA,WAV andFLAC, and outputs them as digital audio (I2S). It can operate in both WiFi direct and with Wireless Access Point.

Major improvements in Class D with Active Pole Control (APC)Class D amplifier modulesAbletec’s patent-pending Adaptive Pole Control (APC) delivers class AB sound quality in fully integrated modules. The amplifiers are completelyanalog, employing self oscillating PWM-mode technology. This design offers the usual benefits of class D - high efficiency, cool running and lightweight, with the additional benefit that the frequency response does not vary with the load, and the transient response is free from ringing andtherefore more natural sounding.

So far, a good design but not unique to Abletec. What makes Abletec performance stand out is their Active Pole Control technology. The activepole generates more loop gain in the low frequency range removing power supply ripple and reducing distortion, even for large speakers that aremore difficult to tame. The pole is controlled when there is a risk of instability such as at start up, current limiting or clipping resulting in reliableperformance regardless of operating conditions or load.

Sanken

Sanken’s patented Base Island (BI) design improves linearity (hfe-Ic) especially at high current, so amplifier performance does not tail off whenyou want it most – loud. Sanken also back grind the wafer, thinning the die on their latest transistors. This lowers the thermal resistance and soincreases efficiency and significantly improves the safe operating area. What’s more, the output impedance is reduced which yet again improvesaudio performance.

Another innovation used in the STD range was to include temperature compensation diodes on the transistor die which inversely matches thecharacteristics of the transistor. This ensures the transistors are stable with temperature preventing thermal runaway. No wonder Sanken are themarket leader in discrete audio power transistors.
