India's december quarter GDP growth at 7%

India's economic recovery is expected to have gathered momentum and GDP growth is likely to grow at its fastest pace at 7 per cent in the December quarter as consumers, businesses and the government stepped

up spending, say two reports from Morgan Stanley and Reuters poll. India's GDP grew by 6.3 per cent in July-September quarter of the fiscal, up from 5.7 per cent in the first quarter . Full article

India-Canada trade grow double in three years

Trade between India and Canada is expected to double to USD 10 billion in the next three years, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry said. The statement comes in the backdrop of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's ongoing visit to India. India's bilateral trade with Canada grew from USD 1.09 billion in 2001 to USD 5.62 billion in 2016, PHD Chamber President Anil Khaitan said. India's imports from Canada stood at USD

3.65 billion in 2016 whereas India's exports to Canada stood at USD 1.97 billion in 2016 . For full article

India calls for changes in WTO to transform world economy

India called for bringing changes in Geneva-based World Trade Organisation (WTO) to transform the global economy. India has invited representatives from several countries to discuss, debate and "find out ways of how to move forward . Commerce and Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu said that the global trade has benefitted all the nations in terms of creation of jobs and promoting economic activities . article

M&M plans to double its electric vehicles portfolio in 3 years

Mahindra & Mahindra, which plans to invest Rs 800 crore towards product development and capacity expansion in its electric vehicle business, aims to double its portfolio and bring on road at least four new models in the segment in the next three years. Given that incentives under the FAME (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles) Scheme are expected to be there for the duration, the company is predicting massive potential to grow electric vehicle sales. Anticipating higher demand, Mahindra has commenced work towards increasing production capacity for electric vehicles to 60,000-70,000 units a year from the current 5,000. For full article

India’s Healthcare Portal

The National Health Portal is an authentic and dynamic information source which can effectively be used by any treatment seeker/potential medical tourist from across the globe. At present, the portal covers accredited medical facilities which include medical centres, Ayurveda & Wellness centres and special category centre. Duty Free Tariff Preference Scheme (DFTP) of Government of India

India announced the DFTP Scheme for Least Developed Countries (LDCs) in the year 2008. In order to expand trade with Africa, India amended its Duty Free Tariff Preference (DFTP) scheme to cover around 96 per cent of the tariff lines in April 2014. Only 1.8% tariff lines are under the exclusion list. Duty Free and Positive Lists cover about 98.2% of global exports of LDCs. Tanzania was the first LDC in Africa to convey its intention to join DFTP in June 2008. All formalities for the Scheme were completed and notified in 2009. *Business Promotion Event in Morogoro ( March 2018) The High Commission of India will be organizing a business promotion

* The 42nd Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (28 -08 July 2018) The 42st DITF will be held at the Mwalimu J.K. The Trade Fair provides exhibition space at the International Hall including Other Hall and an Open Area for outdoor space to display products such as machinery.
