President’s Letter

Neighbors, This year has been a busy year in our neighborhood. We have successfully changed our guard gate company to Giddens Security Corporation. They are a locally owned company with an emphasis on security and detail. The BoD feels the change has been for the better and is pleased with the job they are doing. Our landscaping company is Tree Amigos. I am sure you have seen them throughout the neighborhood. During this time of year, they are able to tackle cleanout projects and maintenance issues. Tree Amigos is doing an

excellent job in continuing to maintain and beautify the landscape of Pace island. The largest project tackled by the BoD was one many years in the planning. Nearly one-third of Pace Island’s roads were repaired and resurfaced. Each road in our neigh-borhood was tested and reviewed, by the engineering firm of ECS Florida LLC. The results were then given a rating based on immediate need, impending need, and future need. The funds budgeted covered all the immediate needs and impending needs. The outlook for the next road analysis will be in five to seven years. Our second priority was correcting the front pool filtration system. If you have frequented the pool in the past, you are aware of the numerous closings and the issues we were having. The much needed replacement of a dated and broken system was completed before the swim sea-son began. Not once did our front pool needed to be shut down during the summer. Neighborhood volunteers are what makes our neighborhood special. Our ADB and Enforcement committee strive to help ensure our neighborhood remains at the standards set forth nearly thirty years ago. Our Welcome Committee offers new renters and owners a snapshot to our neighborhood upon a new move in. The Recreation Committee is busy offering exciting new events, such as Bingo and Food Truck evenings, while continuing classic favorites, such as the Spring Fling and Holiday party. Watch the marquee and website for upcoming events! The Pace Island Swim Team had another fun and successful year! Competing in 7 meets and completing the season in sev-enth out of ten teams. President’s Letter

(continued from page 3)

Our tennis community is active and thriving. There are many different teams at many different levels. If tennis may interest you, at ANY level, please contact the office and Natalie can point you in the right direction! Each and every committee is volunteer-based. Volunteers are ALWAYS in need and incred-ibly appreciated. There are many ways you can become involved. Please contact Natalie, at the office 904-278-6560 with any questions! Your time and sense of community are our greatest asset. A valued staple in our community is entering into her ninth year with us. Natalie Allen is our General Manager. Undoubtedly, you have met her or spoke with her during your time in Pace. Beyond a wealth of neighborhood knowledge and understanding of rules, restrictions, and guidelines, she cares and is concerned about our neighborhood and its residents. As always, the BoD invites you and encourages attendance at monthly BoD meetings. We strive for open communication with residents and highly regard and respect your opinions and concerns. Meeting dates and times are always posted both on the marquee and our website, paceisland.org. Our annual election and yearly meeting require your attention and participation. The annual meeting will be Wednesday, December 4, at 7 pm at the clubhouse. Please take the time to thoroughly read your election packet, and vote! A quorum is needed for the election to be successful. Unfortunately, Pace Island is still involved in a legal dispute. Due to legal restrictions, infor-mation is limited to what is of public record (case No.2016-CA-1237). Finally, I would like to thank the BoD members who put in COUNTLESS hours of their time volunteering! Our many differing opinions represent all in our neighborhood with the sole purpose of keeping our neighborhood lovely, safe, and inviting. Hoping 2020 brings your family much happiness and good health! Carol Rynne

It was a great summer swim season for the Pace Island Piranhas! The Piranhas

ended a fun season with a 7th place finish at the First Coast Summer Swim League

Championship meet held at Cecil Field Aquatic Center on July 27, 2019. The Pira-

nhas were led by Head Coach, Lydia Lane and Assistant Coach, Bianca Daniels.

Our entire coaching staff and volunteer coaches were superb and we are thankful

for all their hard work!
