• Get into Groups of 4 Students• Identify 5 modern heroes.• As I go through the Traits of a Hero, place
the number of the trait that applies to your characters.
The Tenets of a Hero1. Of obscure or mysterious origin (Huck Finn,
Pinocchio, Rocky)
2. Neither a fool nor invincible (Superman, Achilles, Neo)
3. His/her way is neither direct nor clear to him/her (Odysseus, Huck, Luke Skywalker)
Tenets of a Hero4. He/she is Goal oriented (Dorothy,
Odysseus, Rocky)
5. His/her way is beset with dangers, loneliness, and temptation (Odysseus, Frodo)
6. Is accompanied by friends, servants or disciples (Frodo)
The Tenets of a Hero7. Has a guide or guides (Frodo, Dorthy)
8. Descends into darkness (Odysseus, Neo)
9. Is changed after period of darkness (Superman, Spiderman)
