September 2015 National Hispanic Heritage Month
Welcome all new families and welcome back to all our existing families who had the sum-mer off and are returning for a fun-filled school year! This month will focus around getting to know the families and working out the new routines of the classroom. We invite families to
the classroom during our Spirit Week to read exciting stories and participate in activities. The families will also have a chance to meet the teachers during our Meet & Greet Family Cook-out on the 28th. We will be celebrating Hispanic Heritage all month long, so please join us in
celebrating the wonderful culture. If for any reason you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to come to the office. Thank you! Have a wonderful September!

National Dinosaurs Month
This month is full of Halloween excitement with such things as the Classroom Pumpkin Decorating Contest. We are trying something new this year with a Trunk-or-Treating
Event on the 24th where families can enter a trunk decorating contest. We have a Breakfast Buddies Buffet to look forward to as well as Fall Photos. Our most favorite
activity this month will be bringing dinosaurs to life! For one week we will convince the children that the toy dinosaurs come alive while they are away. We cannot wait! The
cooler weather has arrived, so be sure your child has the appropriate outdoor gear for outside time. Thank you and have a safe and thrilling Halloween/Harvest month!

Fall has arrived and with that comes beautiful autumn colors, chilly fall air, and many family friendly events. Keep an eye out for a food sign-up sheet of items needed for our school-wide Thanksgiving Feast on the 18th. Family members are not only welcome but
encouraged to attend. We will hold our Annual Moose on a Mission Food Drive all month. Your donations are very helpful towards families in need. We thank you in advance for your generosity. Don’t forget to turn your clocks back on the 1st and please take a mo-
ment to fill out a leaf and add it to our Tree of Thanks! We hope you have a safe, filling, and joyful Thanksgiving and a very happy month of November.

What a wonderful time of year! This month is jam-packed with excitement including our Holiday Family Event, Holiday Date Night, and classroom
performances. We also have our local Adopt-A-Family and Clothing Drive. Please help us think of others during this special time of year. You would just
take an ornament off our tree and purchase the item listed on the orna-ment. Remember that the cold weather has arrived, so your child should be
prepared for a chillier outdoor experience with appropriate gear. Please label everything! Thank you and have a wonderful and safe holiday season!

This month has a lot of fun activities and events including our ALC Family Sweetheart Dance. We will also be celebrating Black History Month by
showcasing famous African Americans and their accomplishments with a poster decorating display. These are both great opportunities for families to come
together and celebrate with their child. Be sure to write down your guess for if Punxsutawney Phil will see his shadow or not– we don’t want a longer winter,
please! Thank you and have a safe and happy Mardi Gras & Valentine’s month! Good luck to the two teams participating in the Super Bowl! Who will win?
March 2016 In March we celebrate both National Nutrition Month and National Music Month. We
will participate in Random Dancing as well as make healthy, alternative snacks as part of each classroom’s curriculum. On the 2nd the children will get a chance to
express their inner Dr. Seuss by dressing wacky and on the 8th we will have a school-wide Green Eggs and Ham Family Breakfast! Be sure to let us know if you agree with
Sam-I-Am! For St. Patrick’s Day the children can dress as leprechauns and all classrooms will take part in a Scavenger Hunt Contest. Please join us at our Annual
Family Egg Hunt on the 19th! As always have a safe and lucky month of March!
