Herald Gospel Camp 2o12 || we are MADE FOR MOREfor we are Gods workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good work, which God prepared in advance for us to do

Wow. I cant believe that another Herald Gospel Camp has come and gone. I forgotto take my camera to camp, so I only have low-quality phone camera pictures andpictures taken from other counselors & staff! Some of you guys might have seenme post-camp (since it has already been a week since I have returned albeit ahectic week), and heard all about the craziness that was me + my co-counselorBrian + six CRAZY 11 year old boys. Not only was our group all boys, but the entireSession 1 was JUST boys. There were only 3 girl counselors, myself, Joyce, andSarah. Despite the gender imbalance, God obviously still moved and workedthrough each counselor. One HUGE thing was that God painted a vivid image of Higlory through our kids & how beautiful it is when His children come together, both

    old, young, and new.

We studied Joshua chapters 1-10with the boys, and did cadences(short one-line summaries) to theentire camp about Joshua. Itsfunny how God works, because we

ust picked Joshua for our group because his story wasnt always the overused onend there was enough action going on that we hoped the boys would staynterested during bible study. But in retrospect, being Joshua also put intoerspective who we were building the 25 boys in Session 1 to be.

Herald GospelCamps mission is to share the gospel message to youth that havent

eard this message yet, but the recent trend in the past couple years was an influxf church-kids in Session1. But justbecause they were church kids didnt mean theyad thatrelationship with God or truly understood faith. So through counselors

rom different churches in the NJ-Chinatown-Brooklyn areas, we were building up aewJoshua generation that would rise up and continue giving all the glory back to

    God.

More on the campers that drove Brian & Icrazy Kevin: the little jokester who has a hugeheart for Jesus and so much leader potentiaEdward: another camp veteran, he alwaysasked for coffee in the morning, but we

wouldnt give it to him :D the shiningmoment was his support to the other boysduring a teamwork challenge, the wall, whethey had to step on his hands to get overMark: the non-stop Call Me Maybe &Payphone singer, but beyond his tough shelis a boy wanting attention and acceptanceJoshua L: a little misunderstood by the otheboys, he was a hard nut to crack because hehid behind all this bible knowledge andthought with his headJoshua Y: one of our quieter kids (PRAISEGOD FOR ONE), but you could tell that he

was absorbing everything)Jonathan: the youngest and super sweet, hehad many questions --- camp def opened thedoor for him to start a relationship with God

There are TWO Joshuas in our group!! Coincidence? I think not. AND there was a Joshua on staff and a counselor named Joshua.Anyways, I praise God because He brought us (counselors) through the week without too much #dying. Personally, it started off

retty rough because going into camp, I didnt put as much prayer to prepare myself, and so the first two days was physicallyxhausting. I had to take a nap on the first day -.- But through devotions by Pastor John and worship led by Carmen at night, I foundest in God! The most important lesson I learned was to give God control over each and EVERY one of my campers and not worry ifhey were getting anything. My role was to plant the seed and God would water and take care of the rest! So thats a small piece oow amazing our God is.
