Haven Engineering Projects is a Midlands UK-based, privately-owned company providing design,

As project managers, we have the

Principal Contractor, and have great

Haven Engineering Projects has extensive

experience acting as the Principal

Contractor on numerous contracts and

have therefore been responsible for the

preparation and implementation of Health

and Safety plans in accordance with the

CDM 2015 regulations.

holds ISO 9001 accreditation and

implements a long-standing, successful

in-house quality assurance system.

Completion quality assurance

documentation for our work is provided

OUR PROJECTS & RECENT WORK

Haven Engineering Projects are able to provide a comprehensive design service through all stages of the project life cycle, from the design phase through to final installation. This includes all process and mechanical design, process safety work and documentation, in-house fabrication, on-site installation and project management.

SOLVAY, OLDBURY:Plant Construction & Continuous Improvement

Installation of process plants of values

in excess of £3 million, handling toxic

and flammable materials

Site-wide demolition contracts

Re-design and installation of replacement

aeroplane de-icer storage and distribution

systems in all major airports across the

UK and Ireland.

SERVISAIR / BRITISH AIRWAYS:De-icer Storage & Distribution Systems

In-house design and fabrication of all

pipework and structural steelwork

Coordination of all crane lifts and tank

installations

Total decommissioning and removal of

two printer toner plants. Process units

isolated and cleaned for re-use, and

structural steelwork dismantled and

sorted for re-use or recycling as per client

requirements.

Since the opening of the Telford site

in 1984, Haven has taken a leading

mechanical support role, providing

process modifications, repair work and

installations of all sizes.

RICOH, TELFORD:Toner Plant Decommission & Site Continuous Improvement

Work surrounded by inherent hazard

Full design study to review and re-

deign an out-dated chlorine gas

storage and evaporation facility. Haven

VALE EUROPE, ACTON REFINERY:Chlorine System Upgrade

Extensive experience with dangerous

gaseous substances on a COMAH-

rated site

In-depth design, fabrication and

installation of a new Potassium Hydrogen

Difluoride bulk storage and dsitribution

facility. The newly installed process

connects directly to the continuous

automotive production line, with a

fully-integrated automatic control

system designed and installed by Haven

Engineering Projects.

We offer a ful l design and drawing off ice service including process f lowsheets , piping and instrumentat ion diagrams (P&IDs) and s ite/plant layouts conducted through detai l design and fabricat ion phases.

Drawings are produced in AutoCAD and suppl ied in DWG or PDF format with programmes in Microsoft Off ice Project . Zoning diagram drawings are produced in-house for Hazard Area Classif icat ion (HAC) when deal ing with f lammable materia ls .

We chair HAZOP studies, included in the design procedure for hazardous instal lat ions. This ensures a l l potentia l hazards are identif ied and mit igated during the design phase.

With over 50 years of industrial

experience as a mechanical

engineer, Don takes an active role

in overseeing all project work.

Don’s expertise lies in the handling

of hazardous chemicals such as

chlorine, phosphorus, strong

acids and alkalis, and flammable

reagents. Don’s considerable

experience in the management of

multi-discipliniary project teams

ensures that your projects are

safe, effective and on-time.

David OwenInstallations Director

An active company director, David

is heavily involved in quotation,

project work, conducting site

surveys and overseeing the

installation of Haven’s projects

out on site.

An accomplished project manager,

David specialises in turnkey

projects, with a driven approach to

assisting customers and an active

role in overseeing the workshop

to ensure our high standards are

achieved.

Tracey DavisCommercial Director

With over 30 years of service

at Haven, Tracey manages and

oversees the offices in addition to

all personnel out on-site.

Tracey works at the heart of the

company, with extensive experience

in procurement and dedicated

management of the project supply

chain, guaranteeing the delivery of

our outstanding projects. Tracey’s

close relationship with all of our

suppliers guaratees the highest

quality in every installaton.

Oliver joined Haven after

graduating from the University

of Birmingham with a first class

honours in chemical engineering

and industrial experience.

Oliver works closely with the

on-site project management

team to ensure all projects are

completed on-time and to budget,

with responsibilities including

detailed process design, project

cost estimation and production

scheduling.

Abigail LeekHealth and Safety Officer

From creation and review of

company health and safety

procedures to on-site safety

audits, Abi is responsible for the

most important aspect of Haven

operations: safety.

Abi’s diligence and dedication is

made evident by our exceptional

safety record both in the workshop

and on-site. With Abi’s NEBOSH

accreditation and considerable

experience, you can rest assured

that your projects are in the safest

of hands.

Head of Process Engineering

A chartered chemical engineer

and a fellow of the Institution of

Chemical Engineers, Zaffer acts as

the head of process engineering

here at Haven.

Zaffer has experience in all aspects

of process and project engineering

including feasibility studies, design

studies, R&D, commissioning and

chairing HAZOP studies.

Zaffer has extensive knowledge

of process safety risk asessments,

DSEAR, LOPA, SIL, ATEX, COMAH

materials and pressure equipment.

PIPEWORKFABRICATIONS

Pipe fabrication capability in carbon steel,

various grades of stainless steels (including

high nickel content Hastelloy, Incoloy etc.),

PTFE-lined or coated pipework and plastic

pipework in polypropylene, uPVC, cPVC,

ABS, HDPE and PVDF.

PRESSUREVESSELS

Pressure vessels and air receivers

designed and fabricated to PD5500 Cat

I, II and III in both carbon and stainless

steels.

STORAGE TANKS

Vertical and horizontal storage tanks

fabricated in both carbon and stainless

steel to standard BS EN 14015:2004.

We also supply true helically-wound

thermoplastic storage tanks via our close

partnership with Formoplast GmbH.

PLATFORMS, STAIRWAYS & LADDERS

Access platforms, stairways, walkways and

ladders designed and fabricated in-house

in accordance with the latest issute of the

E.E.M.U.A. handbook No.105. Steelwork

can be finished via galvanising, painting or

powder coating, with flooring made from

open mesh, solid durbar or GRP-type

SPECIAL PURPOSE EQUIPMENT

Fabrication and construction of skid

units and special purpose equipment.

We also design and manufacture general

fabrications from plate, steel sections,

tubular forms, to one-off bespoke

requirements to suit our clients’ needs.

QUALIFIED WELDING

High quality welding services provided by

highly skilled MIG, TIG and MMA welders

qualified to ASME IX and BSEN 287 Part

I, working in coordination with quality

control ISO9001.

Shop fabrication can be carried out as part of contract works or as a supply-only job to specific requirements. Our skilled welders can meet your fabrication needs, from basic pipe spools to complex structural steelwork.

At our Midlands offices, we have a dedicated workshop with

skilled and highly qualified engineers. In conjuction with our

experienced team of in-house welders, we offer design, detailing

and manufacture of a wide range of products to suit your

STORAGE TANKS

Haven Engineering Projects can design, supply and install process storage tanks manufactured from stainless

steel or a range of thermoplastics including HDPE (high-density polyethylene), PE (polyethylene) and PPY

(polypropylene).

Thermoplastic tanks can be designed to suit any process requirements and can be manufactured with

additional features such as double-walls, in-built secondary containment shells and flat or sloping floors.

Our thermoplastic tanks are of the highest quality, ensured via our close partnership with Formoplast

Kunststofftechnik GmbH; who have been supplying outstanding plastic tanks to the process industries for over

50 years. Haven Engineering Projects acts as the sole distributor of Formoplast tanks in the UK and Ireland.

An independent process design consultancy with

considerable expertise in plant design, process control and

process safety. Capabilities also include risk assessments,

HAZOP chairing and independent safety advice.

CDM Compliance

All site work is completed under the control of the Construction,

Design and Management Regulations (CDM) 2015.

We have standard risk assessments and method statements for

workshop operations, with each job also undergoing specific

assessment to generate any additional risk assessments required.

Process Safety Services

Haven Engineering Projects offers a full range of process safety

services to assess risks associated with a design. All of process

safety work is undertaken by chartered engineers and includes:

- HAZOP Facilitation (chair/secretary and recording software)

- Hazard studies (What ID / HAZID etc.)

- Hazardous Area Classification (ATEX Zoning) and drawings

- DSEAR Risk assessments

- Incident reviews

- SIL & LOPA
