Dear Parents and Friends of Henry Ford II:

Dear Falcon Family,

It is hard to believe we

are in the second month of

school. October is upon us

and we are preparing for fall activities. A special thank

you to everyone who attended the 2019 Henry Ford II

High School Open House. It was a great evening for

parents and students. It provided parents an oppor-

tunity to meet the teachers and learn about each

course and classroom expectations. If you were unable

to make Open House, please contact each teacher and

request a class syllabis.

Count Day this year was Wednesday, October 2nd and

will represents 90 percent of school funding. Attend-

ance for students is important every day. Utica Commu-

nity Schools as well as Henry Ford II High School aver-

age daily rate continues to be approximately 95 per-

cent. We stress the importance of attendance and en-

suring students are on time and ready to learn every

day.

The Ford Family has experienced a fun filled week of

school spirit and enthusiasm. Student Council coordi-

nated another terrific spirit week of activities and

themes this year. Students and staff enjoyed the

games, music and Falcon pride on display throughout

from 11:30 – 2:30 p.m. and 4:00 – 8:00 pm.

Henry Ford II has a strong tradition of high

academic performance and with the support

gether encourage and empower our students

November 1st marks the end of the progress

report marking period. Progress report

grades will be available on PowerSchool.

Hard copies are only provided if a parent re-

quests the progress report be sent home.

Thank you for such a warm welcome to Ford

EARLY DISMISSALS AND PROPER

ATTENDANCE PROCEEDURES

Please call 586-797-1699 and follow the prompts:

1 = Early Dismissals

2 = Late Arrival

3 = All Day Absences

When an Early Dismissal is necessary it’s

recommended that you call the attendance

line before the start of the school day. Your

student must PICK UP their pass in the Main

Office any time throughout the day.

PowerSchool is now generating automated phone

calls to parents informing them of any absences

for their students on a daily basis. Please use

your Parent Portal to view your student’s at-

tendance. If you have any concerns, email the

individual teacher directly through the staff

tab of the school’s web site:

http://ford.uticak12.org or through the

PowerSchool access. If a correction is

warranted, the teacher will request one.

Henry Ford II High School has several students and staff

members who have allergic reactions to strong perfumes,

ATTENDANCE IN POWERSCHOOL

Attendance is recorded in PowerSchool late in

the school day. Our goal is to have call-ins rec-

orded by the end of the school day. However, if

you have any questions regarding your students

attendance, please wait 24 hours to insure that

all records are complete and up to date.

2. Create a new PowerSchool ID and Password for the Unified Classroom website.

a. Parents and guardians must use their personal email address in the PowerSchool ID section

and choose a desired password.

b. Students should use their district assigned email as their username and choose a desired

password.

7. Click Create PowerSchool ID.

8. You will be taken to a screen for the Unified Classroom that indicates that you are all set.

9. Click Continue to Unified Classroom Sign In.

10. You will be directed to the Unified Classroom log in screen and you can sign in with your new

PowerSchool ID and password.
