Tree characteristics Trees are vigorous and spreading showing good early production. Production The Henrietta is a mid to late maturing Valencia selection with very good production and large fruit size. Fruit is also low seeded. Yields of 50 to 60 tons per hectare can be expected in more mature orchards however young trees bear well. It is doubtful whether the Henrietta will require crop manipulation. Harvest, packing and shipping requirements as well as post harvest disorders are the same as other valencias. Origin and use The origin is a branch mutation of an old clone Valencia. Fruit Characteristics The fruit size is a uniform medium to large. Fruit shape is round to slightly elongated. Fruit is firm with slightly course rind. The fruit has large segments with deep orange internal colour. The Henrietta valencia was discovered on Group 91 farm in Letsitele, Limpopo Province, South Africa. The Henrietta valencia is protected by Plant Breeder’s Rights as per the Plant Breeder’s Right Act No 15 of 1976 (as amended), which prohibits illegal propagation (PT6359). Henrietta valencia
