Payload Risk Mitigations
Risk Probability Mitigation Failure AnalysisPipe Burst Low Check for leaks
prior to launch.Keep backup pipes on hand.
Battery Leak Low Use quality battery. Use gloves to clean up; seek medical attention if comes in contact with skin.
Pump Failure Low Get a reliable pump. Buy a different pump.
Wire break Low Wrap in electrical tape.
Keep extra wires on hand or repair wires.
Pressure monitor failure
Low Test monitor. Keep extra monitor on hand.
Blood leak Low Seal bulkhead with epoxy; seal off blood system from payload electronics.
Repair the seal.
Altimeter failure Low Get a reliable altimeter and test it.
Use a different altimeter.

Payload Personal Hazards
Risk Probability Mitigation Failure AnalysisPipe Burst – Flying rubber may hit eyes.
Low Wear safety glasses If injured, seek medical attention.
Blood – can be ingested.
Low Wear gloves and keep hands away from face. Wash hands after use.
Seek medical attention.
Latex – allergic reactions can occur.
LowLow
Checked to make sure no one is allergic to latex tubing.
Seek medical attention.
Epoxy – can cause fire. Low Keep away from all sources of flame or intense heat.
Keep fire extinguisher nearby at all times.
Epoxy – can cause respiratory irritation, skin irritation, or eye irritation.
Mid-Low Use in a well-ventilated place.
Know where the nearest water source is for the flushing of skin/eyes.
Short circuit – can receive burns.
Medium Wear gloves to avoid burns, and don’t connect power until wiring complete.
Keep a first-aid kit nearby at all times.
