Drive the walkingbus!
Leybourne School Walking Bus is looking for a new leader and some newadult volunteers (parents grandparents/carers of children who attend the school) Thebus has run every day during term time for 13 years but may have to stop if newhelpers can't be found. We have a maximum of six children for every one adulthelper, and each helper is DBS checked prior to starting. There are three bus stopson the estate. The bus starts at 8:20 am and gets the children to school for 8:40am. The children really enjoy the independence that the bus gives them and it’s greatto have some exercise before school. By leaving our cars behind we also help toreduce traffic congestion on Oxley Shaw in the mornings. If you are interested inhelping out please contact Georgia Richards – 07930 600 993 or [email protected].
NoticeSituations vacant: At the last ParochialChurch Council meeting, membersdiscussed the need for more volunteers tohelp run our church. We need additionaldeputy wardens, sides people, layassistants, lesson readers, intercessors, crucifers, acolytes, Children’s Churchhelpers, 7 Up helpers and churchyardclear up helpers. Many of our currentvolunteers do multiple tasks, but we’dlike to spread the load with some newvolunteers. There is a team to train andguide new volunteers. Once involved itis very rewarding to be a part of thesuccessful running of our beautifulchurch. Church Wardens Jen and Patrickare happy to chat to anyone who wantsto get involved in any way.
