Getting your critically ill patients moving as soon as possible can significantly reduce

complications and the costs associated with longer hospital stays.9-12

Using safe patient handling products instead of manual lifting can help minimize caregiver injuries and reduce workers’ compensation costs.13

Take the guesswork out of surface selection for the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers.

Help staff follow your hand hygiene requirements using an automated system shown to improve compliance.13

Fall prevention programs work, helping healthcare teams ensure these events rarely if ever happen.14

“ SEEING THE DRAMATIC IMPROVEMENT IN OUR PATIENTS LIVES FROM IMPLEMENTING THIS EARLY MOBILITY PROGRAM HAS BEEN EMPOWERING FOR OUR TEAM.”

Measure the results of your investmentCancer hospital reduces ICU LOS by 35% and costs by 17% with the Progressive Mobility® Program.15

A multidisciplinary team of caregivers reviewed and adopted the Progressive Mobility® Program protocol by working with their Clinical Outcomes Manager. They used existing Hill-Rom® ICU beds and lifts to mobilize their critically ill cancer patients. Clinical and financial results were measured using Hill-Rom’s exclusive Impact Tracker™ Quality Improvement Program.

Clinical Outcomes

Following implementation of the Progressive Mobility® Program protocol, the hospital reduced ICU length of stay by 3.7 days or 35%. Ventilator days dropped by 0.3 days or 6%. These findings showed for the first time that cancer patients, even with a high severity of illness, can benefit from an early mobility protocol.
