School On Wheels

Help Us Help Them 20

In 2013, we thought of educating street children who are deprived of education.

We came up with the concept of taking the school to the children rather than expecting them to travel to school. This gave birth to the idea of a ‘School On Wheels’.

School On Wheels was a very challenging project as the concept of getting street children to study was difficult. Initially parents were not keen to send their children to school, but, with constant effort of our teachers, we now have regular students.

The bus now travels to three different locations of Kolkata as of now: 1. Southern Avenue 2. Nakeldanga and 3. Park Circus.

A total of 120 children attend the classes in this bus (as in May

2014) and we are growing day-by-day. Help Us Help Them 21
