Media´s view of Hellskottas first CD: ” it´s incredible the flow that they create together." Anders stock Cratz, Lira November 2014 "What fits better into a band whose music is in hell swinging?" Sara Sagraeus, Folkbladet, December 2014 "The songs are stable danceable structures, while there is a movement and escape over them. The music changes often temperamental and there is a delicious dynamic between Abellis more meaty, earthy games and the explosivity of the guitar and sax. "Alexander Agrell, Sydsvenskan 141,203 ”The band themselves call their music groove jazz; perhaps it could be called African blues or ethno funk. Besides that the music´s really grooving” Sven Bjerstedt, Ystad Allehanda, 141,203 ”The groove is sometimes ”Cruel” and the sound feels much larger than a quintet. I like this! "Tor-Björn Lyrhed, Corren, 141,217 From live performace... ... 'Own creations with substantial pumping grooves of many different kinds, where several melodies and heavy riffs can present themselves in the same song. The atmosphere is happy or melancholic, sometimes in the same song, and Hellborg and trombonist Goran Abelli glue new musical lines on each other, while guitarist Erik Skott´s often creates a dissenting voice in a different key. The result is a very special and interesting sound. "Alexander Agrell, Sydsvenskan 140,823 ”Hellskotta has a different outgoing, the horns more jazzy I might say. The groove is heavy and potent funk at high volume.
