Helen Karikari |Marina Cassidy Soprano Helen Karikari started training formally in Opera Performance in 2002 as part of an education programme linked to London's Royal Opera House. From here Helen Karikari has taken part in numerous master classes, performed recitals on the international arena and sang at top venues in the UK, such as Kensington Palace. Helen Karikari has learned from well-respected trainers and performed with internationally-acclaimed musicians, such as harpist Marina Cassidy. Helen Karikari's professional training began in 2002 when she took part in the Flora Opera programme. This concentrated on developing the artistic skills of students to an extremely high level, with the syllabus concentrating on opera singing and stage skills under the tutelage of Nina Walker and Richard Gregson. Here, Helen Karikari‘s ability to perform Mozart roles was clear as she was chosen to play Dorabella and Despina at various showings of Cosi Fan Tutte. While training with Opera Workout, Helen KariKari made further acclaimed impressions on the professional scene, via her role in Le nozze de Figaro as Cherubino. In 2004 she embarked on further training with Margaret Gibbs at City Opera. At this time Helen Karikari added more supporting roles and a full role to her professional career. During her fifth Mozart performance the soprano appeared as the 2 nd and 3 rd spirit in the Magic Flute. Her full role saw her being cast as Arnalta in Monteverdi's The Coronation of Poppea. The soprano added more supporting performances to her resume in 2006 as the result of further courses under Opera Workout, including Esperanza in Christopher Columbus and Nancy in Flowtow's Martha. Shortly after this in 2007, Helen Karikari took to the stage in her debut leading role following her partnership with City Opera. Here she starred as the eponymous Amahl in Amahl and the Night Visitors, an opera that has proven to be a global sensation. Helen Karikari‘s recent role as Yum-Yum in Gilbert and Sullivan's the Mikado has attracted critical acclaim as her most notable performance. Helen Karikari has further deepened her Operatic skills by applying herself to study the Kodaly method under Agnes Kory at the Bela Bartok School of Musicianship from 2008 to 2011. The course enhances rhythm, intonation and music literacy. The soprano's studies have been complemented by a varied performance history that has seeing her touring globally for recitals held in the United States, Chile and Japan, where, among others, she has worked with world renowned harpist Marina Cassidy. Helen Karikari has also worked with a number of successful trainers who have taught some of the world's leading Opera singers.
