When I was a younger man I used to describe surprising incidents or events as coincidence. To use the term coincidence one must allow for the possibility of chance events coinciding at certain moments in time. Having been a Christian for over 40 years now, I can honestly say I know longer believe in coincidence. Believing that God is sovereign and active in our lives I now simply believe in divine appointment. Last weekend some pretty amazing things occurred at a time of need in our lives. At the right time God sent the right person to help Jenny and I when she had broken down in north Alabama. This was divine appointment. We had a peculiar need, and God sent the right person to meet that need at the right moment. God has done this very thing for every believer. "You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly." (Romans 5:6 NIV) When we had a need for forgiveness and salvation, God set up a divine appointment for Christ to meet that great need in our lives. Let us praise the God who meets all of our needs through Christ Jesus!

and drop them in the box in the
