3,500 kids have heard the bee’s story and their relevance in a Net-Zero community……even the cat cannot resist chillin’ with the bees.

Beekeeper support….To a gloomier side….AFB

• This summer asked to assist with local hives….A number of individual beekeepers had expressed concern w hive health….

• Upon inspection quickly determined the hives were AFB positive.

• All appropriate parties were notified.

• Current total of euthanized hives in London area in 2018….~100

• Sealed, gassed and treated at local landfill as hazardous waste

• Sequestered, tipped and backfilled immediately.

AFB..Looks snotty, smells funny & isn’t a myth

I treat for AFB….

• Until I have better tools to fight potential infections such as AFB I will use the tools available to me.

• Once a hive has been identified as AFB positive-it must be destroyed.

• Heffs will can on your behalf and interface with municipal landfill or EfW plant to help manage an AFB outbreak.
