An invitation from the presidentI’m really looking forward to this year’s Homecoming at CMCC. Last year’s Homecoming was a glorious event, with terrific speakers, delightful weather, fun activities, friendly class competition for our Backs in Motion fundraising challenge, and great camaraderie. With a whole new weekend of events planned, I expect this year’s Homecoming will be another resounding success.

I’ve spent the last many months meeting alumni at various provincial events and conferences, and I’m sure I’ll have a great time chatting with even more of you at our Homecoming. Events such as this offer our graduates a wonderful opportunity to catch up and reminisce with classmates, and to see how CMCC has continued to be a leader in chiropractic education. We will, of course, offer tours of our facilities so that you can see how we continue to change and improve. If you graduated before 2010, you’ll certainly want to see our state-of-the-art Simulation Laboratory with

its Force Sensing Tables for honing adjusting skills and the high fidelity manikins used to refine diagnostic skills. Through the generosity of our Governors’ Club, we’ve extended this technology now to all of our adjusting laboratories. Also on display will be our first Anatomage virtual dissection table.

One of the key parts of our annual Homecoming is the gathering of the various five-year anniversary classes. For the 50th anniversary class (the class of 1968) we’ve put together a commemorative video celebrating 50 years since your graduation. A big thank you all of this year’s class representatives who have volunteered their efforts to help organize Homecoming.

I hope you will be able to join us this June. We have added to and enhanced our social events so you can connect with your former classmates on a whole other level. For the first time, we will be honouring alumni from anniversary classes who have made significant contributions to the profession and their communities. Please take a moment to check out our website and think about who you would like to nominate for our Homecoming Alumni Awards.
