SCENTS AND SENSITIVITY: As we dress up & accessorize
for Shabbat and Yom Tov, we know that many members use
personal fragrances (perfume, cologne, deodorants) to enhance their
Shabbat experience. Please be aware that fragrances can be harmful
to the health of our Bayit family, and in recent times, a number of
congregants have shared with our staff that they often experience
respiratory or allergic reactions to the fragrances. Please consider
reducing or eliminating your fragrance use when you are in the Bayit.

Tween Tefillah/Discussion on the High Holidays
Last year we introduced a one hour explanatory service for this “in between” age group to build their understanding of and
appreciation for the High Holiday liturgy. We are looking forward to having this program again and having more children
attend. We would also love to hear your suggestions for additional ways to engage this age cohort. Please stay tuned for the
launch of our T(w)een Tefillah after Rosh Hashanah.
Finally we are asking all parents to take a few minutes to make a High Holiday plan with their children. The plan can incorporate
some or all of these elements: spending time in services, taking a break and reading a book, coming to the Bayit a little later in the
morning or heading home early and participating in the explanatory service. Whatever makes sense for your child.
Thank you for your help in ensuring that children are meaningfully engaged and not running unsupervised in the building or
congregating in stairways, lobbies and hallways.
JOIN THE YOUTH DEPARTMENT'S KOL HA'NEARIM TALLIT FUNDRAISER Last Simchat Torah we were privileged to inaugurate the Bayit's Kol Hanearim Tallit as our community's children were collectively
called to the Torah under its canopy. This year we will be personalizing our Bayit's Tallit and supporting the Youth Department by
embroidering the names of our children on it. 1st year special: $36/child's name to a max of 10 letters. $2.50 per additional
letter. Please do not include last names. To ensure your child's name appears this Simchat Torah, Please register your
child/ren by Wednesday morning, September 12th, 9:00am at www.thebayit.org/tallit. The Kol HaNearim Tallit was
dedicated in loving memory of Dvora Golowa z"l ז"ל בת הרב עזריאל זאב ז"ל ויהודית מלכה גולובה שתחי דבורה איטה‘ by Anat Barber & Avi
Bloom. In order to have the Tallit embroidered on time for Simchat Torah we need a minimum of 100 names. Questions? Email
Co-Youth Director, Eitan Cooper at [email protected].
REMINDER ABOUT SAFETY AND BALL-PLAYING IN THE BAYIT:
Please remember our current no-ball-playing policy: "Please do not bring balls or other sports equipment into the Bayit. If you or your children must do so, please make sure to leave the sports equipment in the coatroom." Parents, please ensure your children adhere to this policy. It can pose a safety issue & impact the building’s welfare.
BAYIT SEFARIM FUND: Donations to the Sefarim fund will be used to purchase
the books we need as determined by the rabbinic team and
gabbaim. Donors will be recognized with a thank you in
the 2nd bulletin of every month and a dedication label in
the book when it is purchased. To donate visit our website
at www.thebayit.org/sefarim.
