Heart Magnet

MATERIALS: ScanNCut; Deep Cut Blade; Standard Blade; Standard Mat; Adhesive-Backed Magnet Sheet;

Stencil Material; Spatula; Deli Paper; Glitter; Glue/Sealant

step 2. Place adhesive-backed magnet sheet

with the magnet side facing down onto

the mat. Select “Load Mat” > “Scan”.

step 1. Open “Patterns” > “Standard Shapes” >> “Heart”. Size as desired. Click “Set”.

step 4. Using the Deep Cut Blade, perform a test cut. (Settings of “Cut Speed”: 1 and

“Cut Pressure”: 5 were used.)

step 3. Drag the heart shape onto the magnet material, and perform a test cut.

(Be sure to drag the heart shape onto the material.)

step 5. Once cutting has completed, unload the mat.

step 6. Remove the heart shape (and remaining material) from the mat.

step 8. Press the “Back” button and (leaving the previous heart on the screen), press

“Add”.

step 7. Place stencil material on a mat. Select “Load Mat”.

step 9. Add handmade script, or other text, and place over the heart shape.

step 10. To adjust to fit in the hearts, go to “Edit” > “Zoom” >> “Resize”. Adjust so there is

a slight overlap on the edges

step 11. Choose the heart shape and delete (but leaving the wording and test cut). Click “OK”.

Scan in stencil material. step 12.

Tip: Draw a black line around the material so you can see it easier once it has been scanned.

step 14. Perform the test cut, and cut the wording. Select “Unload Mat.”

step 13. Place the test cut and the wording. Switch the Deep Cut Blade back to a

Standard Blade, and click “OK”.

step 15. Remove all pieces. (The Spatula Tool is best for delicate items, such as the

wording.)

step 17. Stick the stencil down onto the revealed adhesive in the center.

step 16. Place the magnet onto a piece of deli paper and remove the backing.

step 18. Take one color of glitter and cover the heart shape. Gently pick up the heart

shape, and shake off glitter.

Tip: To ensure the stencil is stuck down, press the release paper back over the heart shape to press all over.

Tip: Use a soft-bristled brush to remove excess glitter

step 19. Over a new piece of deli paper, carefully remove the stencil.

step 21. To ensure the glitter is permanent, cover with a clear sealant.

step 20. With a second color of glitter, shake off extra glitter.
