LAKE NONA YMCA AND NORTHLAKE PARK COMMUNITY SCHOOL Located in a city park, the Lake Nona YMCA Family Center shares a building with the Northlake Park Community School. The YMCA provides quality health and wellness programs for the entire family. The school offers learning opportunities for children in grades K-5. The YMCA Before and After School Programs are a result of this partnership. In the program, character values are emphasized every day to encourage students to be model citizens and to extend lessons taught in the classroom. Students are given time each day to complete homework with qualified staff so that when they get home, they have time to spend with their family. We encourage you to enroll your child today and see what a difference it can make!

REGISTRATION INFORMATION The Y makes strengthening our communities our cause. We believe the values and skills learned early on are vital building blocks for life. Because of the Y community, kids in neighborhoods around the nation are taking more interest in learning and making smarter life choices. At the Y, kids learn to share with friends, build character, learn about sportsmanship and, most importantly, learn how to be themselves. This makes more confident kids today and contributing and engaged adults tomorrow. This year, 21 million people-nearly half of them kids-will come to the Y to learn, grow and thrive. OUR PROGRAM There is plenty for parents to love about the Y Before and After School Programs. At the Y, kids sit down for homework time. This means there’s more time for you to enjoy your evenings together. There is also a good feeling that comes with knowing your child is safe and thriving at the very same place they attend school. No finding a bus. No commute. No worries. What’s more, learning is a part of everything we do. Kids are taught the YMCA core values—caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith—this makes them who they become. OUR COUNSELORS At the Y, we understand that our counselors are responsible for the care and safety of your children, which is why we ensure each staff member is pre-screened and properly trained. Each counselor is CPR and First Aid trained and certified. What’s more, our child to counselor ratio is an impressive 1 to 18. OUR ACTIVITIES • Homework Support • Art & Humanities • Health, Wellness & Fitness • Sports • Teambuilding • Service Learning • Science/Nature Activities • Swimming • Afternoon Snacks • Character Development

In 2014, Samaritan’s Purse hopes to collect enough shoebox gifts to reach another 10 million children through the Operation Christmas Child project. Boxes can be dropped off at the Lake Nona YMCA between October 6 - November 23. Help us reach our goal of 1,000 boxes collected for this great cause.

Time is everything. When you give your time to the great causes that the Y stands for, your efforts impact everything around you. Spend the time. See the change. It’s all about what you put in. As a nonprofit, the Y is able to strengthen communities because of the dedicated youth, families and individuals who share our passion and make the Y part of their lives. They give their time, resources and talents—every day and in hundreds of ways—because they know they can improve the lives of others while enhancing their own through the Y.

TEEN LEADERS All activities in Teen Leaders will address each of the 4 goals of the YMCA teen leadership programs: leadership training, personal growth, service to others and social development.
