About Us
TMC is committed to the importance of strong design, lasting
quality and exceptional service to our customers.
TMC is committed to the importance of strong design, lasting quality and exceptional service to our customers. Since
introducing our unique, colorful, laser-cut furniture for adults and children, TMC has continuously developed visionary
styling for the contract market.
Founded in 1998 and headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan, TMC was started (and is still owned) by artists and design-
ers who share the philosophy that design, innovation and customization are the core to modern US manufacturing. Our
interest is not in producing furniture by the container-load. We are enamored of traditional made-to-order production
methods and values, and by establishing our factory in Grand Rapids, we have been able to tap the city’s rich history of
furniture-craft.
With an acclaimed portfolio of captivating laser-cut designs, a beautiful palette of wood finish colors and a broad selec-
tion of materials, TMC offers customers a wide selection of highly modular furniture – spanning contemporary Scandi-
navian styling to traditional Arts & Crafts vernacular. And if you don’t find what you like in our standard product, TMC’s
self-developed “options-based” software and production systems will allow you complete customization for seating,
casegoods, and built-in millwork.

The healthcare industry is a market that is constantly changing and adapting to
new technologies and patients’ needs. Our job as designers and manufacturers
is to provide furnishings that can last through heavy use and fulfill the needs of
various healthcare environments, while still producing beautiful pieces of furni-
ture. A combination of manufacturing skills and a sophisticated artistic sensibility
is infused throughout TMC’s designs, allowing us to offer beautiful products that
are sterile, green, and easy to clean. As with our library line, TMC Healthcare uses
trend forecasting and thoughtful attention to client and patient’s needs. A close
relationship with architects, designers, and healthcare professionals allows us to
stay ahead of other companies, which has given TMC a style that is recognized
and loved.
TMC feels that hospitals should be comforting spaces that welcome patients with
warm décor and well-designed furnishing. The sleek styling found in our lounge
chairs offer a comfortable option in waiting rooms, while bold colors and stacking
bases provide functionality and style to products like our linoleum-faced EnShell
Chair, two examples of how TMC looks beyond individual pieces and focuses on
the setting as a whole. Guided by study findings of what helps the healing pro-
cess, many architects have adopted an evidence-based design process. Using
surrounding natural elements like gardens, lakes, ocean views, and forests,
designers are able to promote healing through key architectural and interior
design choices. Since TMC works closely with designers during the planning
stages, we are able to foresee the role our furniture will play in this process and
offer design choices that facilitate its realization.
TMC’s custom capabilities offer the option to modify our standard pieces in
many significant ways, such as re-sizing or using different materials and accesso-
ries. Select from our portfolio of styling options, including cut-outs, wood finishes,
powder coats and more, or let us design a custom cut-out or mix a wood finish
specifically for that installation. Whether it’s a completely custom unit or a modifi-
cation to one of our products, TMC will work with you to design a piece that is a
memorable addition to a hospital, clinic or other healthcare center.
