Entry RequirementsAdvanced Apprentices will need a GCSE or Functional Skill Maths and English qualification, experience of working in a care role and hold a Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care.

Day-to-day activitiesTasks undertaken by apprentices will vary depending on the level and sector in which they are employed. Tasks may include undertaking personal care such as assistance with dressing, feeding, washing and toileting, providing advice, encouragement and emotional and psychological support.
AssessmentApprentices will be required to produce evidence using e-portfolio software. A Skills Coach will visit once a month to observe apprentices. Some diploma units and functional skills include tests which need to be taken at a training centre.
