COVID-19 SCREENING TOOL FOR PARENTS ENHANCED CLEANING Safe and effective disinfectant spraying units will be used in buildings and on buses daily. Hand sanitizer dispensers, disinfectant spray bottles and microfiber towels will be utilized regularly in all locations where students are present. Students who choose to receive instruction on-line, through remote-learning, will be “live” through Schoology and match in stride what his or her classmates are doing within the physical classroom. Please screen your child daily prior to coming to school with the attached screening tool from the Indiana Dept. of Health. UPDATES POSTED ON DISTRICT WEBSITE AT: WWW.DEKALBEASTERN.COM OPTION 1 OPTION 2 SEATING CHARTS Students will be socially distanced when possible and have assigned seats on the bus and in the classroom throughout the day. MASKS Masks are required for students grades 3-12 at school (when social distancing cannot be maintained), and highly recommended below grade 3. Masks are required for all grades on the bus and in the clinic. All employees are required to use masks when in student proximity. Masks will be individually numbered and provided to all students. CAFETERIA + WATER BOTTLES Meals will take place in classrooms and/or designated areas to allow for social distancing. Only bottled filling stations will be available. Students will be provided a water bottle with a matching number to their mask. PARENT EXPECTATIONS Parents can partner with DKE by monitoring their child's health, reinforcing hygiene practices, and by utilizing their mask and water bottle provided. Please continue to visit the district website for current information at www.dekalbeastern.com. VISITORS Visitors or invited guests are not allowed in the building unless permission is granted by school administration. If permission is granted, visitors are required to wear masks. TRAINING All employees will complete proper training prior to the re-opening of school. HAND WASHING Hand washing is highly recommended throughout the day. Additional hand sanitizer will be available. CLINIC Symptomatic students waiting for pickup will be provided a separate space and must wear a mask until leaving the building. MENTAL HEALTH Additional mental health services will be available for all students.
