Health Equity Strategic Communications Project
NYC Smoke-Free at Public Health Solutions is seeking an NYS certified MWBE public affairs firm to assist in our efforts to
reframe our program efforts as not only public health issues, but also health equity and social justice issues. Our
program work includes building awareness and discussion around our key initiatives to stop the proliferation of tobacco
retail in NYC neighborhoods and expand smoke-free affordable housing.
Time Frame:
Proposals and bids due no later than COB Wednesday, February 17, 2016. Project can begin immediately upon
selection but must end by Thursday, March 31, 2016.
Deliverables:
• Strategic message and outreach materials development
o Create 15 items of written content and/or materials that may include message boxes, talking points,
briefing materials, fact sheets, brochures, newsletter stores, and website copy using the latest available
local data as well as various framings and polling research provided by NYC Smoke-Free, e.g. framing to
key audiences such as: affordable housing developers, neighborhood organizations, legislators,
community leaders, etc.
• Video Production
o Create a short video of about 3 to 5 minutes – including filming, editing, and producing – of youth
testimonials, staff talking points, and b-roll stock footage to be used as a standalone educational video
as well as in VNR (Video News Release)-ready format for broadcast media coverage. Sample NYC Smoke-
