On Friday, I wrote to all parents regarding this and attached a FAQ doc with more information on what re-opening may look like at Redfield Edge (if you have not seen or received this, please contact the school office for a copy). More guidance continues to be made available and discussions with Heads from our Envision Hub and the Local Authority along with our Governing body is helping senior leaders to put together a plan which will be shared with parents later this week. We will also make our Risk Assessment (for a phased return) available on the school website for you all to look through. Due to the capacity of staff we have available, it may not be possible for us to offer a return for all of the children in Holly, Hazel, Oak and keyworker group and therefore a staggered approach may need to be taken. In this instance, Keyworker children will take priority followed by Holly, Hazel and then Oak. I would like to assure you that any decision made regarding re-opening (as at any other time) will be made with the children’s best interest at heart.

Thank you Keyworkers

Home Learning – Willow Class

Willow Class's community project this term has been to learn about our NHS and take part in activities to show appreciation and support for them. The children have been making posters, writing letters, sending care packages and, very excitingly, have

now raised over £1500 for the Bristol City Centre Hospitals

Appeal by deciding to team up and run a marathon! We are very proud of them all demonstrating so well our school values of

thankfulness, compassion and mindfulness of others. Go Team Willow! If you are able to donate to this very worthy cause,

please visit @WillowClass_RE for the link to the Just Giving

page. Well done – what a super effort – we are incredibly proud of you all and your parents for their support.

Home Learning – Holly Class

Home Learning – Maple Class

Holly Class have been busy learning

all about halving numbers and

brushing up on their life skills including helping to make

lunch and learning Makaton sign

language.

Last week, the pupils in Maple Class were asked to write a formal letter based

around our school value – thankfulness. They were asked to write to someone to

show thanks for their actions and contributions to the national effort

fighting against COVID-19.

One small positive thought in

the morning can change your

whole day.

Home Learning – Oak Class

Oak have been developing many life skills this week! Whether it has been their sewing skills or reading bus timetables they

have all been fantastic. Others have been looking after their physical and mental

health with daily walks or different PE activities. Keep it up Oak!

I would like to thank all of the parents for their patience and ongoing support during this very unusual time.

Messages of thanks that we have received have meant an awful lot to the staff.

We are missing your children and want nothing more than to get back to some form of normality where our school family can all be together safely again. We will

continue to keep you updated as the time for re-opening approaches and in the meantime if you have any

concerns or need support please do not hesitate to contact us.

Home Learning – Beech Class

Beech Class have been busy interpreting graphs in Maths as well as solving problems with money. Whilst in English the focus has been using writing instructions features such as adverbials and imperative verbs. Many important life skills have been taking place as well as thinking of ideas for a

community project for next term. 🙂

NSPCC - Support or Parents The NSPCC has produced a very useful resource for parents,

covering: feelings and worries, keeping in touch, structure and routine, sense of control. Most sections have links to other
