Headend Coaxial Cables
Times Fiber Communications is pleased to offer coaxial cable for CATV headends. Available in 13 different colors, TFC’s cable is designed to handle the ever-increasing demands of hi-technology signal processing equipment used within the headend.
A critical performance metric for headend cable is the ability to minimize signal loss and prevent “cross-talk” between cables. That is why TFC’s high-quality cable construction is designed for maximum shielding effectiveness for frequencies up to 3 GHz. As density and loss requirements vary between upstream and downstream signal flow within the headend.
Bundled Headend Cable
Headends are continually upgrading their signal processing equipment to enhance performance. These upgrades often require re-routing dozens of coaxial cables within the headend to equipment 50 feet away or more. Routing these cables can be very labor intensive and are commonly a large source of cost. That is why TFC has developed a series of headend cable “bundles” that group a number of cables within a common PVC jacket. TFC’s bundled cables minimize the number of cable “pulls” required by headend operators to connect their equipment, thereby reducing time and cost.
Cable Assemblies
TFC offers all of its headend coaxial cable as custom-length, connectorized jumpers. All jumpers are 100% tested prior to shipment to ensure quality and reliability.

Headend Cables are available in: 59-Series headend cables with trishield braid (foil, 95% braid, foil), 59-Series headend cables with quad shielding (foil, 95% braid, foil, 95% braid), Mini-Series head end cable with standard 95% braid for denser applications, Mini- Series headend cable with quad shielding (foil, 95% braid, foil, 95% braid)
All headend cable bundles are: Individually colored cables with a black outer PVC jacket, individually-numbered cables of uniform color with an identically-colored outer jacket, Uniform-colored coax cables oriented horizontally in a ribbon format
Cable assemblies: Most TFC jumpers are manufactured within days of a customer order for materials that are in stock. TFC offers custom jumpers with connectors from customer-specified manufacturers, including Type F, MCX and BNC interfaces.
