UNHCR has developed a Private Sector Fundraising Strategy 2018-2025 which has the ambition of growing PSP into a service capable of generating $1 Billion annually and identifies priority fundraising markets and regions. As part of this strategy, UNHCR is conducting private sector fundraising activities in 35 markets worldwide and in 2020, raised over USD 500 million from individual donors, the corporate sector and foundations. UNHCR launched private sector fundraising activities in Indonesia in 2020 further to a market study that confirmed potential to meet and exceed UNHCR requirement to raise minimum USD 3 million annually within 5 years of market entry. As per PSP plan 2021-2023, financial income target in 2023 is set at USD 6.5 million encompassing Individual Giving and Private partnerships and Philanthropy (PPH). Core objective is to build a sustainable source of funding from Indonesia to contribute to the funding of UNHCR operations in Indonesia and other international situations. Particularly in Indonesia, UNHCR aims to increase financial support substantially from Foundation, High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs)/Major Donors and from Islamic Philanthropy sources. Due to the particular importance and complexity of Islamic Philanthropy in Indonesia, PPH activities are carried out by a dedicated team of specialists reporting directly into PSP regional team. Therefore, while the scope of the present position encompasses overall PSP strategy and planning responsibilities, from an operational point of view it is limited to activities falling under the scope of Individual Giving. The incumbent of the position will be based in Jakarta, Indonesia working closely with the wider PSP team and the UNHCR Representation. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Regional PSP Officer (Asia & Pacific) with guidance from Representation and close consultation with the global PSP units in the region and at headquarters.

Duties and Responsibilities - Contribute to the development and implementation of a strategic plan for Private

Sector Partnership in market, reflecting both the country advocacy strategies and the global PSP strategies.

- Contribute to the development of the annual Private Partnerships and Philanthropy income within the AOR, including its income targets and other goals, as well as in their implementation, and report in a timely manner according to agreed annual budgets and plans.

- Support the supervisor in the management of the PSP budget in the AOR, supervise (UNHCR regular and affiliated) staff in order to ensure National Growth Fund (NGF) projects operate within approved budget.

- Manage the PSP team within the AOR to substantially increase the funds raised in the market

- Support the implementation of the Organization’s global private sector fundraising strategy in the AOR.

- Roll out the development of an individual giving acquisition program which could include Face to Face, Direct Mail, print ad, Digital or DRTV in addition to other methods determined to be appropriate.

- Establish donor development programs in the AOR. - May be required to advise on PSP investments (NGF). - Play a crucial role in building cordial relations with relevant corporate donors and

media partners when it is related for fundraising in order to seek their increased financial and other types of support for UNHCR.

- Oversee the development and maintenance of a donor database, in which financial supporter's private information and donation history are saved.

- Oversee the development, maintenance, updating and enhancement of all the fundraising communication messages and materials for print and internet-based online outlets in order to maximize the loyalty of the donors for UNHCR.

- Support the supervisor with the submission of regular reports as required. - Ensure the compliance with the relevant domestic law related to fundraising practice,

fundraising licencing and data protection. - Manage PSP activities and staff in the AOR to ensure efficient fundraising operations

meeting expected income growth targets. - If delegated by the supervisor, give approval to national PSP implementation of

activities within agreed budgets, staffing plans and annual plans. - Coordinate and work closely with Representative(s) and Communications team to

integrate plans as it relates to events, public engagement initiatives, campaigns, communications and outreach.
