The first thing we need to know about God is that HE LOVED! God loved you before you were even born. He loves you right now and He always will. God tells us that He loves the whole world. Everyone is important to Him. His love is deep and wide. His love for us is without end.

He was perfect! He hit the target mark right in the center! No one

else can ever hit perfection!

God _________ - Crucifixion and Resurrection- Mark 15:21-47, 26:1-16

Because God loved He GAVE. God gave the most important, valuable perfect thing He had for you, His Son. God sent His only son, Jesus, to die on the cross and take the punishment for all of our sins. God sent His son as a gift to you to make a way for you to be in relationship with Him. Do you know why God gave us His son?

You see there is something that gets in the way of God and us. God had to send His son to get that something out of the way. He knew that the stuff that we do wrong would keep us separated from

Him. The stuff that separates God and us, is SIN. If you have ever done anything wrong, you’ve sinned. If

you’ve ever told a lie, etc., you’ve sinned. (Romans 3:23) God knew our sin would separate us from a relationship with Him. But, because He loved, He gave His Son, Jesus, so that we could have a relationship with Him. Jesus came to take our sins away. You see, Jesus died on a cross for us, and He rose again in three days. He gave His

life for us. This cross helps us remember that God gave us His son, Jesus so that we could know Him. But you see three days after Jesus was put on the

cross He rose. HE IS ALIVE!!!

We _______________- (John 14:1-6, John 3:16) So we know that God loved and God gave. That’s what we know about God. What do WE need to do, now that we know that? Well, what do you usually do when somebody gives you a present? You take it. We take or accept, His gift by BELIEVING. That’s our part to play in the story- WE BELIEVE. John 3:16 Now this is a “believe” like a trust believe, like when you sit in a chair you trust it to hold you up. This is realizing that He is in control and trusting him with your life. Trusting Him to be the boss. When you believe in God, you are saying that you believe that Jesus is God’s son, he died on the cross and rose again. You believe that God is who He says He is and that Jesus is the only way for you to get to him.

When you sit in a chair what are you trusting it to do? ________________

When we believe Jesus is God’s son and the only way to God, we are ____________ Him.

The believe we are talking about is more than head knowledge it is trusting God.

What do we receive? The rest of the verse of John 3:16 says that we can have eternal life. God wants to give us life that lasts FOREVER with HIM. When you believe (the trusting kind of believe), you receive a relationship with God that last FOREVER and ever. This is when we choose to let God be our boss, our Lord and live for Him, not ourselves. It starts that moment you receive and never ends. This gift is for all, but is only received when we ask for it. Just like a gift at a party may be placed on a table for you, but until you open it, it is not yours. The same is true for us. Until we ask for our sins to be forgiven and to be connected to God through Jesus, then we do not have a relationship with Him. When we ask, we receive.

Who is the only person who can get us to God?

Why do we need Jesus?

What does Jesus forgive?

How do we get Jesus’s forgiveness?

Who does Jesus send to be our helper here on Earth?

We ____________- 2 Corinthians 5:17 & Romans 6:4 Being baptized is a way to show others that you are now a follower of Jesus as well as obedience to what God has asked us to do. Baptism is a symbol of what Christ did for you. When we make a personal decision to believe and follow Jesus, then we need to go public with our faith and tell others. One way that we can do that is to be baptized just like Jesus was. We SHOW!

We ___________- Matthew 5:14-16 We shine so that others can know God. Let your light shine, so that others may see God in you. When there is dark and there is one light shinning brightly, we can see it from far away. When we believe and follow Jesus, it’s like there is a bright light inside of us and everyone can see it! Our job is to learn more about who God is and His plan for our life, then to shine it to those around us. Once you receive Jesus you are on a mission to learn more about Jesus and shine Him to those around you. When we SHINE, others can learn about God!
