For two weeks, we were in Daytona Beach, FL coaching a Bible Study Methods class for 110 new Cru missionaries in January. Whether it’s facilitating an investigative study or helping people grow closer to God, we as Cru staff invite students to come and see for themselves what the Word of God says about who Jesus is and what it means for our lives. God’s Word informs everything we do as we seek to journey together with college students towards a relationship with Jesus. For this reason, when people join staff with Cru, there are eleven master’s level courses that must be taken to further equip them for a lifetime of ministry. In Bible Study Methods, participants learn how to personally study the Bible more in-depth. In addition, they also learn how to communicate God’s Word to others in such a way that helps them further explore, connect, and apply the Bible to their lives. This year was special because, in addition to coaching a group of eleven new staff, Caleb had the opportunity to lead a breakout seminar and give a lecture to the whole Bible Study Methods class. Also, Laura was able to be there with the kids for the whole time, and we were able to make some fun memories together as a family. This is the fourth time Caleb has coached this class, and every year, people leave feeling encouraged, equipped and challenged. As we train and resource missionaries to reach people for Christ, we are trusting God that each person on every campus will have the opportunity to hear and respond to God’s offer of love and forgiveness.
