"and now your password"Enter the telnet password for your modem
"Location to your macs file (this can be left blank)"Enter the path to your MAC data file or leave it blank if you dont want a default input file, but you will have to enter it each time you run check from file.
"Would you like to skip macs that have been tested before? (y/n)"y to skip already tested MACs, n to retest all MAC's
After the configuration stage you will be passed back to the main menu, this is as follows :-What are we doing today?1) Test mac addresses2) Scan for new addresses3) Edit config datatype exit at any prompt to exit
-
1) Test mac addresses1) Working from a list? This will allow you test MAC addresses found in a txt file. It should be bright enough to take any input log and find all MAC addresses ignoring other data. You will get the option to use a different file for input.
2) Incrementing from a base mac?Give the script a base MAC then the script will keep trying from that MAC until either the first working MAC it finds or you kill the program (CRTL + C).
2) Scan for new addressesYour subnet will be auto detected and all modems on the subnet will be pinged and there mac address logged.
3) Edit config dataThis will give you the option to edit your username, password, location of MAC data file also skip macs toggle.
Advanced data file information
avoid_mac_type.txtIf you know that a particular kind of mac address will not work in your area then please edit the avoid_mac_type.txt data file and add it. I have already entered a few for the UK, namely 00:14 00:16 00:26, more may need adding.
configThis holds the data you entered on first run you can manually edit or delete as required, but I suggest you use the menu if you need to change anything in this file. An example of this file would be :-
username = adminpassword = haxorwaremac_file_name = dupe check = y
Working.txt, not_working.txt, Not_online.txtThese are created when you run any of the option 1 items. They are pretty self explanitory with the filenames. :D They are in to format of :-
00:0e:9b:71:a5:55 10242000 514000This would mean its a working address with 10mbit speed.
00:02:8a:1c:45:55 10000000 64000This would mean its a NON working address.
00:02:8a:56:25:55 Not OnlineThis would typically mean mean its a NON working address, but it cant be verified either way by the script.
Found_Addresses.txt
-
This is created when you run option 2 Scan for new addresses. It contains all MAC addresses found on the subnet of your current MAC. It is in the format :-
00:26:5e:b6:c5:55 10.225.81.2200:26:5e:b7:65:55 10.225.81.28
