Moms Morning Off Newsletter Fall 2018 October is Fire Prevention month so we had our visit from the Fredericksburg Fire Depart- ment. The kids were excited to see the fire truck for all of about a minute before it got called away on an emergency. Luckily Sparkysaved the day! We listened while the fireman talked to us about their equipment and how they would help us in case of a fire at our house or school. The fireman told us to talk to our parents about where our safe place outside our home in case of a fire is and to remind our parents to change the battery in the smoke detector regularly (just in case you were asked questions about that). Having fun at MMO! MMO Update: Weve had some busy and exciting days! Everyone seems to have settled in and be happy about coming to MMO. On Wednesday, November 7th, we will have Mr. Ken Smith come and talk to our kiddos during chapel about what it was like being a Navy Pilot during the Vietnam War. He did a fantastic job last year and we are blessed and honored to be having him return this year! Every Wednesday at 10:30 we go to the Sanc- tuary for Chapel and each class leads the group in singing 2 songs. The babies may not be great singers yet, but at least there is a lot less crying and actually some are starting to partici- pate! Father Jeff or Father Bur gives the children a devotional about a particular Bible story or they talk about something special that may be going on in church at that time. Then they lead us in reciting the Lords Prayer and some of the older children have been able to assist him with that. Each week the class leader in room 5 gets to extinguish the altar candles and turn out the lights after services. You are always welcome to join us for Chapel. If you dont want your child to see you, sneak up to the balcony and hide when their class sings. Please be prompt at pick-up time. Especially for Afterglow. The teachers have to clean the classrooms (sanitize toys and furniture, vacu- um, carry out trash and put away carts) after the children leave so they can go pick up their own children at school. We dont want them having to speed to get across town! We still have one opening in Room 5 if you know of anyone that is interested.
