What We Have Been Up To – We learn important skills, appreciate great books, practice mindfulness and explore genres in the library!

Kindergarten – Makerspace - reading great stories – getting to take out books from new library sections

1st Grade – New book sections –learning about different nonfiction subjects like fish, vehicles, prehistoric animals, etc.

2nd Grade – Discovering new sections like the Biographies – starting our WISER research

3rd Grade – Genre studies continued – learning about coding & coding robots – Internet Safety

4th Grade – Spreading kindness through makerspace - databases -almanacs

5th grade – Learning about history - keyword searching - boolean search tips

Makerspace in the Library!

Kindergarten has started coming to the library for special Makerspace visits. Over the course of the month of March students will learn about engineering, growth mindset and perseverance as they work to meet challenges, create new things and grow from mistakes. Here they are engineering with Keva Planks.

5th Graders Solving Problems!

As part of a library lesson on the Titanic, students were tasked to design life boats out of LEGOs to help the survivors in a makerspace challenge.

4th Graders Share Kindness

As part of Respect for All Week - 4th graders designed art work and logos that share kindness and respect. These were made into buttons and shared with others.

3rd Grade Coding

3rd graders learned about sequential order, debugging and team work as they coded using Bee Bots, Ozobots and Botley.

Happy Birthday Doctor Seuss! Kindergarten classes celebrated Doctor Seuss’s birthday in the library with activities and stories.
