HATS OFF to Mary Richards A woman who inspired a generation of girls. A couple of years back I deleted one of my first posts titled HOPE I STILL MAKE IT...AFTER ALL, that was inspired by Mary Richards / Mary Tyler Moore. I had lost my job, my direction, even my cat, but that iconic image of Mary that I grew up and emulated still shined in my mind. As time and the job search moved on I removed it, no 'Lou Grant' ever responded to my spunky personality and I thought it didn't look professional, it was too day dreamy, too tv-land, too naive, too much the real me. Today I am posting it in honor of Mary Tyler Moore and the real joy, smiles, and hope she brought to me and others even as she struggled through loss and pain in her own life. My mother always said "Every woman wishes she was Mary Richards, even Mary Tyler Moore." Mary Richards gave me the dream of being a beautiful, independent, successful woman, possibly even a producer. HATS OFF to Mary Richards

A woman who inspired a generation of girls.

A couple of years back I deleted one of my first posts titled HOPE I STILL MAKE IT...AFTER ALL, that was

inspired by Mary Richards / Mary Tyler Moore. I had lost my job, my direction, even my cat, but that iconic

image of Mary that I grew up and emulated still shined in my mind. As time and the job search moved on I

removed it, no 'Lou Grant' ever responded to my spunky personality and I thought it didn't look professional, it

was too day dreamy, too tv-land, too naive, too much the real me. Today I am posting it in honor of Mary Tyler

Moore and the real joy, smiles, and hope she brought to me and others even as she struggled through loss and

pain in her own life. My mother always said "Every woman wishes she was Mary Richards, even Mary Tyler

Moore." Mary Richards gave me the dream of being a beautiful, independent, successful woman, possibly

even a producer. Mary Tyler Moore made me appreciate the value in having that dream; finding solace in it

while never giving up on it.

HATS OFF to Mary Richards and Mary Tyler Moore. A woman who inspired a generation of girls to have

faith in themselves, real love in their lives, and probably a lot of lost hats. Her character broke ground

not as a feminist or a fighter for a cause, but as a lost soul stumbling forward into uncharted territory.

Not with arrogance but innocence, not with ambition but hope and achieving the true success in life of

loving what you do surrounded by people who return that love to you.
