    Hatchet Short Response Test

The next four days in class we will be working on a short response test together. We will be responding to four questions. You will turn all four responses in on or before Monday, April 30th.

Here's the plan--we'll go through one question per day as a class...1. Write a topic sentence. 2. Brainstorm supporting details. 3. Write the supporting details as sentences and include a transition. 4. Write your final paragraph: make sure you handwriting is legible and check for spelling, grammar, capitalization and punctuation.

If all goes according to plan, you should be able to turn in on Friday, April 26th. However, you do not have to turn in until Monday, April 30th.

I recommend the following...-Take notes on the handout I give you. Then, after we've finished brainstorming as a class, write your final paragraph on loose leaf. -Be an active participant! We are doing ALL the work together, so pay attention and contribute!

    1. Characters who change throughout the course of a story are called dynamic characters. Other characters are static (or flat) characters. They do not change much during the course of a story. Do you think Brian is a dynamic character or a static character? Give examples to support your answer. (25 Points)
