I’m hoping that this will you to get to know some of our members better and you understand why this is such a great club. I plan is to spotlight a different member each month. The December meeting is also when all of the 200 club tickets are due so we can have the first drawing. If you haven’t turned them in, please bring them to the meeting on Wednesday. We’ve gotten some snow already this season but unfortunately not enough around here to for the trails. Let’s hope there’s more on the way. Safety training is this Saturday and the Vermillion City Hall at 7:30 so come help out if you can. Keep it between the markers and be safe. Think snow!! For the next four months, there will be twelve winners with the top prize of $500 in March. Make sure all of tickets are sold and turned back in by the start of the December meeting. 2013 Youth Safety Training Saturday December 6 th , 8:30am – Vermillion City Hall The safety training incorporates a new format this year which eliminate the test and replaces it with a shorter quiz to allow for a more streamline process. Speakers from Hastings Police, DNS and fire safety will still be a part as well as up close look at the sleds and the familiar riding course. If you can help out please meet at 7:30. Good luck to all of those students. Holiday Party Vermillion City Hall - December 7, 2013 Noon - 4:00pm Come and help celebrate the holiday season at the annual SnoMos Holiday party. Rumor has it that Santa himself may be scheduled to appear with gifts for all of the children. Trivia Answer Edgar Hetteen. Edgar along with David Johnson and Allan Hetten (his brother) founded Hetteen

Hoist and Derrick in 1945 which later became Polaris. In 1960

Edgar left Polaris to form Arctic Cat. A true visionary, he laid the

foundation for the modern snowmobile industry. A 1990

inductee into the Int. Snowmobile Hall of Fame.

R E M I N D E R

All requests for Charitable Donations/Sponsorship must be made to the board prior to their being presented at the club meeting. These requests must be made (or recommended) by a member in good standing (paid) of our club.

Pot-O-Gold At each membership meeting, a

paid member’s name is drawn

for the Pot-O-Gold. If the member

is present at the meeting, they

win the Pot-O-Gold! If that

member is absent, the money

stays in the pot and increases

$25 each month until the pot is

won. At the March meeting,

names will be drawn until

someone present wins! Make

sure to be at the meeting so you

are eligible for the drawing.

Dakota Trails Appreciation

The Appreciation party will be

November 29th, 6:00pm at

Celts Pub in Farmington for all of

those who help with the

installation of the trails.

200 Club Tickets

The annual 200 club raffle will be starting again soon and tickets are

now on sale. This is the club’s major fund raiser that helps us pay for

the activities we sponsor each season. We need your help to make sure

all of the tickets get sold and make it a success.

Trail Markers If you need new markers for your trail this year, let Jay know what signs

and how many.

What do you ride? I ride a 2007 Apex LTX GT and Donna rides a 2010 RS Vector. I also own a 2002 SRX 700, 1986 VMax 540, 1979 Enticer 340 Deluxe, a 1978 Exciter 440 and a 1972 JD 400 which my dad bought brand new.

How long have you been riding? I started riding in 1971 on a Yamaha SL338c

When did you join the club? I joined the club in 1974.

What positions have you held? Currently I’m president which I held a couple of times, I’ve also been VP, Board member and the MnUSA Contact.

Location of the most memorable ride? My best ride, I better get this one right, it was 1977 on the club trip to McGregor, MN where I proposed to Donna.

What do you like most about the club? What I enjoy most about the club is seeing all of the great friends as well as promoting and enjoying the BEST winter sport.

Anything else you'd like to tell us? This is a great club and I hope that it keeps getting better. Everyone is great to work with. Keep up the great attitude and see ya on the trails soon!

Tell us a little about yourself. I started working in RiverSorts Ind. Right out of high school in Miesville, later in Cannon Falls for 10 years and even a little for John Seegar. I spent 10 years with Yamaha as a Service Representative and 13 years in the

snowmobile marketing department. Currently I

spend my days farming.
