PART 1: GRADEBOOK SET-UP

On the top blue tab select Gradebook Go to Set-Up and Select Preferences

Enter your phone number Enter your email address Decide how you want your numbers rounded Check if you want adjusted points Adjust font SV icon indicates that the preference setting

impacts SchoolView (what parents & students see)

Click on the ? icon to see a detailed description of how that setting works.

GRADING SCALES

We can use up to 99 grading scales per class

We have a default grading scale and a pass fail grading scale set up.

PASS/FAIL GRADING SCALE

If you have a student that would benefit from a Pass/Fail Grading Scale you will need to add it.

To use the pass/fail select add a new grading scale and select it in the drop down menu

ASSIGN A GRADING SCALE

Now that you have defined your grading scale you will need to assign it to that class or an individual within the class.

In set-up select Assign Grading Scale. Assign the grading scale to the entire

class or individual students

SET-UP CATEGORIES

Default categories are: Homework, Quizzes and Tests

Select Set-up --- Category Editor if you want to change these or add new categories.

Set up weighted categories if you want. Category weights must add up to 100. Example: Tests = 50% of grade, Quizzes 20% and homework 30%.

ADDING A DEFINITION (ASSIGNMENT) Go to Scores on the top menu Select Reading In the Action Menu select New

Definition Enter a Title (Week 1) Enter a Category (Vocabulary) Enter a Start Date/Stop Date Click Save and Enter

ENTERING A GRADE: DEFINITIONS

If the majority of students have the same grade, simply enter it in the top box, select apply to all and modify the students that didn’t earn that grade.

You may use the different status keys to signify why a student may not have points (absent).

This is a great area for you to leave comments to remember later (s/he did not study the correct vocabulary etc.)
