MONDAY 6.07.15SUEDE REMASTERED #FABRICTREND

A much revived fabric for spring, suede continues for resort 15. Suede and fringe are constant companions and thewestern vibe is very much alive and well. Sophisticated shift dresses, coordinated coat and trouser seerates, simpleshirts, sheath coats and fringed jean jackets are some key silhouettes. Colour palettes range from neutrals and vividseventies throwbacks of mustard, cinnamon, rust and chocolate to soft mid tones including rosy shades and Frenchblues (woolworths have utilised this colour palette)

The suede revival is important in many categories this summer including sportswear, dresses, outerwear & accessories. It can be a hot item, and stores need to maximise sales in this important fabrication for summer 15 to autumn/winter 16. By capitalizing on the strong 70’s mood as simple, easy pieces are appealing to consumers as atrendy fashion key item, as well as instilling a sense of luxury in their wardrobe.

DRIVERSThe surface interest is associated with luxury, seventies inspiration for the modern woman, fabric interest will drive fashion purchase as a perception of value add.

ACTIONSWe should maximise the suede story on the sales floor, merchandise neutral colours as wellas soft feminine tints and provide key items within each CATEGORY. (dresses/skirts) This couldbe a strong fashion story for Massumi, Donnatella and Network Casual.
