From Mike, Kay, Katy, Dalton & Jill Hartmanand everyone at

Hartman Cattle Co.

It gives us great pleasure to welcome you to this annual event. As you see there are several new

consigners to this years auction. We are fortunate to be involved with a dedicated group of breeders.

I feel like this is the soundest, highest quality offering from end to end we have ever sold in our

customer appreciation sale.

We have energized our program at Hartman Cattle Co. and are working with both Simmental and

Maine-Anjou now. We’re committed to remaining extremely quality conscious in both breeds emphasizing

a combination of Pedigree, phenotype, performance, numbers, soundness and longevity as evidenced by the

genetic power representated in this sale.

I ve never been long-winded about the cattle we are selling, I let the cattle speak for themselves. I

will say I’ve traveled more and sifted through more cattle than ever before to get this consignment put

together and I’ve never been prouder.

Again we welcome you to view the cattle at

Tecumseh at your convenience and we thank you for

your interest in the sale offering.

Update is one of those rare commodities that doesn’t happen every year. His pedigree and EPD’s are proof positive of his breeding potential. His sire, Upgrade, is fast becoming a household name. Yearling sons of Upgrade topped many of the better bull sales last spring. Update is extremely wide based and deep sided standing on an excellent set of feet and legs and packed with performance. We’ve had numerous semen inquiries already and we feel he’s one of Upgrade’s finest prospects born to date of course his dam is the great donor cow, Melody, the dam of Driver. Full sisters sell as lots 6 and 9.

Here’s a solid black full sister to Driver. She’s an absolute model of a great yearling show heifer and predictably a true production piece after her show career. She’s very sharp and feminine made through her neck and shoulder with great length of stride and size of foot. With her individuallity and numbers this is a great investment opportunity for serious breeders.

A true sale highlight and crowd favorite is offered in lot 2. Her dam, Jade, needs no introduction and Kip feels this is the most elite female she has produced to date. This heifer is very fluid in her movement and exceptionally long strided with tremendous body mass and angularity. With her background her breeding capabilities are guaranteed and there’s no doubt she will stand a lot of competition in the show ring. Seller retains 1/2 cloning rights.

A truly great one from one of the leading seedstock operations in all of Canada. Aptly named, enormous pride of ownership goes with her. She is a 3/4 sister in blood to lot 20. Their dams are sired by a black son of Teddy from Wheatland. Show ring and breeding pastures she will excel!

This female is destined for greatness, be it in the show ring or an ET program. She is a maternal sister to Bloombergs 2011National Junior show Grand Champion. She’s one of the widest based females in the offering. This combined with her length, depth and ultra flat shoulder demands a second look at sale time.

Not highly conditional early, French Silk, has great promise as a yearling. As indicated by her numbers, her mobility and soundness should guarantee her longivity. She has a great future as a brood matron. The production possibilities of these full sisters to Driver is evidenced by the lot 15 heifer calf out of 703 a Driver full sister. Caroline is a carbon copy of lot 6 even though they are sired by different bulls. But you can see the genetic power of Melody in her six daughters selling in this offering. We feel this could be one of Melody’s top cow prospects to sell. As you, study this heifer, note the dimension to her hip and the way she ties into her stifle and hind leg.

Rag Doll is a strip faced full sister to Driver with a world of mass and dimension backed by a 128 API. If you study the feet and leg structure of all four full sisters, lots 1, 5, 7, & 8, you will see the depth of heel, shape of foot and proper set to their hock. I can’t say enough about the longivity appearance displayed by these four full sisters.

Driver progeny are having a huge impact on the breed. Lots 11 & 14 are full sisters out of the powerfull Barbie cow that has done such an awsome job for Kearns. These heifers boast balanced EPD’s and the gentle outcross on the maternal side presents countless breeding options and valid financial advantages. This is a very striking female with tremendous capacity and natural width.

A full sister to lots A & 6 and Griswold’s Division Champion at the 2011 National Junior Show. With her sharpness and body mass she had been a crowd favorite since she arrived. She is a free moving, big footed, capacious female that will have to be reckoned with in the show ring. She is one of the sale highlights. She possesses tremendous mass and volume standing on an excellent set of feet and legs and I really like the slope to her shoulder. Both her and her full sister, lot 11, impress you when you view them from the rear on the move. It will be interesting to watch this young brood matron develope into a yearling as I feel all the right pieces are there.

Sired by Upgrade and out of Drivers full sister she has phenotype, structural soundness and pedigree combined in one awesome package. This May heifercalf is destined for greatness. Outstanding as a baby, with her depth, sharpness and presence she’s a crowd favorite in Tecumseh.

This will be one of the elite Steel Force daughters to sell this season. Note her pleasing body shape, spring of rib and added dimension. She is sound, mobile and the picture of longivity. Her dam, Tango, has been a true breeding piece for BF Simmentals.

What strength of pedigree on this aptly named heifer. This fancy Look Out daughter is very chisled and sharp fronted and powered by great spring of rib and shape of hip. A truly awesome genetic prospect with one of the most interesting pedigrees in the enitre sale. She’s a brood cow deluxe.

A headliner from one of Canada’s greatest brood cow herds. Grant Schlekeway has been a regular in this sale until BSE shut the border down 5 years ago but now he’s back with a truely great heifer. With her outstanding physical attributes she’s the kind in great demand.

A super Junior project heifer with a great disposition, soft hair and athletic make up. I’ve always admired her soundness, foot size and phenotypic look. We all agree she’ll make a tremendous yearling. The Driver influence in this sale is very obvious and rightfully so.

This will be one of the top 3/4’s to sell at auction this season. Note her hip structure, the way her flank ties into her stifle and her mobility at the ground. If I could own 100 3/4 females like this you would be in the seedstock business instantly. This may be one of the deepest sided females I’ve seen that is still very attractive and sharp made. A true breeding piece sells here.
