At that time flying was dangerous but that didn’t stop Amy.
In 1930 she became the first female pilot to fly by herself from England to Australia.

For many hours Amy had to sit in an open, windswept cockpit.
To keep herself warm she wore thick gloves and a home made flying suit with goggles to protect her eyes from the wind.
