    Overview

    Program Title: How Many Apples? A Simple Counting Game

    Grade or age level(s): K-1

    Major Goal: Students will develop one-to-one

    correspondence when counting up to 10

    objects.

    Amount of Time: 30-60 minutes depending on learner abilities

    System Requirements: Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, or 7, high speed

    internet connection, Flash player 11, audio card,

    and speaker.

    Program Description

    Characteristics of Target Learners:

    Learners should be in the 5-7 years age range with basic skills related to

    clicking on and dragging objects when using a mouse. Instructions will

    be recorded for students to hear in order to overcome barriers related to

    reading abilities, and will also be provided in text form for the teacher or

    parent to read aloud. In addition, symbols will be provided to facilitate

    navigation. Finally, learners should have some previous experience in

    counting objects and recognizing numeric symbols.

    Instructional objectives:

    1. The student will develop one-to-one correspondence when countingobjects.

    2. The student will be able to identify number symbols up to thenumber 10.

    3. The student will recognize and correct errors when skipping numbers(in the form of empty spaces on the provided number line).
