Cloud computing can deliver HaaS, IaaS, SaaS and PaaS

services to the users. It helps us cut down the IT costs

significantly. In reality, we have been using cloud computing

services cloud computing

provides. It can be the ability to

hire a server to run a geophysical

modelling application. One can

also hire a server, load it with

applications to run and also copy

it into multiple servers to handle

excessive workload. One can

also store data on the cloud,

making it accessible to only

those who have the pass key.

These features are generally

provided as standard features by

any company who are providing

cloud computing in India and

are done automatically. Web

services like maps, GPS

information and other can also

be offered using a cloud server.

In a cloud computing system,

the workload shifting is

significant. As the servers are

running the applications, the

local computers don’t need to

run these any longer. As the user

needs just an interface to access

these software and hardware,

the need to have modern

hardware and software is

reduced. In fact, modern

browsers, such as Mozilla Firefox

is everything you might need to

interact with an application

which is hosted, run and

processed by the servers of the

cloud computing service

provider.

If we reflect back, we will realise

that we always exploited cloud

computing benefits in some

form. If you have an email id

from any popular email service

provider such as Gmail, Yahoo or

Hotmail, you were and is already

using cloud computing. Instead

of running an email

management program locally,

you open the email management

program of these providers in

the browser, using an interface

which is hosted on their servers.

The storage is not local either as

the mails are stored on a remote

server or the emails don’t exist

in your local computer.
