Endeavour Schools’ Values
Respect Responsibility Resilience Reconciliation
Harmony Day is on Saturday, 21st March. We celebrate Harmony Day to promote
diversity and acceptance of other cultures. Harmony Day aims to start a conversation about heritage, culture and community. The event coincides with the United Nations'
International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. This is what harmony looks like to some of our Year 3 students.
Harmony to me means treating others how I like to be treated - Zeppelin, Rm 15.
Harmony to me means standing up for others - Khymarni, Rm 15.
Harmony to me means inviting others to join in - Brock, Rm 15
Room 19 created their own people chains to show all the differences between their own families. We explored a PowerPoint all about Harmony Day and discussed what it means to belong.
Harmony day is making friends - Devryn, Rm 16
Harmony day is accepting others - Parker, Rm 16

From the Pen of the Principals
Dear Parents/ Carers and the Endeavour Schools community, COVID-19 Our school is continuing to monitor and take clear guidance from the Department of Health and Department of Education regarding COVID-19. It is important that as a school community we apply a common sense, factual and practical approach towards COVID-19. As school we have undertaken the following actions so far: Reinforcing the 14 day self-isolation requirement with any students, staff, parents or visitors who have
returned to Australia as of Monday, 16th March 2020. During this self-isolation period people are unable to come onto the school grounds.
Reinforcing hand washing and daily hygiene practices with our students. Ensuring we are vigilant when undertaking our daily cleaning processes on the school site. Cancelling or postponing some school events in Term 1 in accordance with Department of Education
guidelines (please refer to the note that was sent home on Tuesday, 17th March 2020). We will provide an update later this term in relation to events that were planned for Term 2.
In the process of reviewing our processes and actions to ensure we meet the recently released 100 person limit on indoor gatherings.
As the situation relating to COVID-19 is constantly changing, we will communicate any changes to our school community. For the latest health information and health-related enquiries, please refer to the WA Department of Health website- www.healthywa.wa.gov.au/coronavirus. Facebook Page Endeavour Schools has an official Facebook page. On this page we share many news and events as they relate to our Schools. Search for “Endeavour Schools” and click on like to keep up to date with the latest happenings. Tell Them From Me Parent Survey Parents, we want to hear from you! We are seeking feedback regarding your thoughts on our school in order to improve our practices. We encourage you to access the Tell Them From Me survey to give us your thoughts and feedback. The survey is open until Monday, 23rd march 2020. You can access the survey via this link- http://tellthemfromme.com/s4w3p Annual Report Last week we held our first school board meeting for the year. Congratulations to Fleur Ritchie who has been nominated to continue in the role as school board chair. During this meeting the 2019 school annual report was endorsed. This report provides a summary of our events, progress towards our school targets, student performance information, community satisfaction and financial summary. Copies are available via the front office or by visiting our school’s website. Free Dress Day Tomorrow (Friday, 20th March 2020) we are holding a footy theme free dress day. Students, staff and parents are welcome to come to school dressed in the colours of their favourite football team and bring along a gold coin donation. All funds raised will go towards our Year 6 camp, which has been postponed to 4th– 6th November 2020.

Lost Minutes = Lost Learning
Punctuality means your child is ready to
learn at the start of the school day.
The adjacent graph shows how much time
is lost over the year when a student is
consistently late by a certain amount.
Every school day counts, but every minute
is equally important!

Behaviour Processes at Endeavour Schools
In this fortnight’s behaviour focus, we would like to communicate some of the actions that may occur when a student is
referred to the school administration. A referral to the office occurs when a student reaches Stage 6 of the classroom
behaviour process, Stage 4 of the playground process or is an immediate referral due to being one of our major behaviours
(Refer to last fortnight’s newsletter for a summary of these).
Congratulations to the junior and senior choirs for your wonderful assembly about the environment. We look forward to seeing the results of your busy bee in the vegetable garden. (Mrs Nurse will send notes home to choir members about this soon.) Sincere thanks to the Hill family (Edward and Deisel) for donating the fabulous acoustic drum kit to the music room. The students have been thoroughly enjoying playing cool rhythms and drum rolls on it already. Also thank you very much to the Lane family (Olivia and Riley) for donating a big set of sombreros (Mexican hats) to the school and we look forward to using them for the Mexican hat dance and in multicultural activities. Early Bird Flute Class (for Yr 5/6 flute students) - A reminder that this is a great opportunity to improve your playing and share the fun of playing the flute with others and Mrs Nurse. I love listening to you and keeping up with your progress. The class is on Wednesday mornings at 8am. Kerry Nurse Music Specialist
