What is E-Textiles???

E-textiles, or electronic textiles, are fabrics

with electronics integrated in them. In

Electronic textiles, emphasis is placed

on the seamless integration of textiles

with electronic elements like

microcontrollers, sensors, and

actuators.

Combination of fibres with conductive materials can be completed by the following methods:

Fibres filled with conductive material (e.g., carbon or metallic particles.Fibres coated with conductive polymers or metalFibres spun with thin metallic or plastic conductive threads.

Metallic threads

Conductive Inks

Inherently conductive polymers

Optical fibres

Coating with nano-particles

Organic semiconductor

Shape memory materials

Chromic materials

Futuristic Technology

In future, the garments need not be as fancy

as jetpacks, sky shoots, anti-cleaning

garments; but they need to be more

compact. High tech and high efficient

devices have bulkier circuits. They need to

be more compact so that they can be made

to integrated so well with the garment.
