There was a different feel to our worship time. Sitting outside in lawn chairs beside our cars was unfamiliar. Gathering alongside others, however, offered a familiar comfort. Our time together was wonderful and I am so thankful for that time of gathering. It was a bit windy on Sunday, which was not a bad thing. The wind emphasized the significance of our scripture reading. As we recalled the disciplesbaptism of the Spirit, which came like a rush of violent wind, we felt a renewing wind sweep through us. It was a truly special moment for a special Sunday. Sunday also offered my family and me the opportunity to say farewellas we begin our transition to my next appointment. Your new pastor will be arriving in a couple of weeks and he will be in the pulpit shortly thereafter. Thank you to everyone who gathered at our farewell tailgate to see us off. We appreciate the many gestures of kindness so many of you offered us — from farewell cards to lasagnas and chocolate cake. Thank you to each of you who offered Ginny and me a special note or gift. We truly appreciate these gestures of love. The UMC is organized with an itinerate structure. For this reason, I knew there would be multitude of moves in my life. Each appointment offers unique blessings. The same is true of New Beginnings. Thank you to everyone who gave shape to our ministry, support us in our call, and encouraged us in our sharing of the Gospel. Thank You and Farewell

I wish to express my sincere gratitude to the leadership, who shared my vision and supported my witness. I, especially, want to thank the team of staff with whom I will dearly miss. NB’s staff is comprised of some truly amazing people. Chris and Ryan were always amenable to any need. It is a gift to stand up on a Sunday morning knowing you can trust the person in the booth has your back! Richey and Jeannie were a delight to serve alongside. Leaving the music in their hands never disappointed. Tonya is one of the kindest people I have ever met. She always goes the extra mile with a smile on her face. She is a gem! Sarah and Miranda give their whole self to New Beginnings. Their ministry to our children and youth is exceptional, but I was most uplifted by their willingness to commit to any of the church’s needs. And, then there is Lisa! Words cannot express how thankful I am to have had Lisa. She does so much for the church. There are so many little things, help me! As I leave you with this farewell, I wish to borrow the words of Paul to the Thessalonians. May these words express my sentiment — Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you. - 2 Thessalonians 3:16. Blessings, Pastor Ross
