An important aspect of the New Year is Panchangam Shravanam or listening. As the name Panchangam
suggests, it has five parts ("Pancha" means five and "Angam" means parts). The five parts are: 1) Tithi, 2)
Varam, 3) Nakshatram, 4) Yoga, and 5) Karanam. It is believed that the fortune for the coming year for all
the people is documented in Panchangam. Hence, listening to the Panchangam at the beginning of a New
Year brings great strength to perform daily karma in addition to bringing good luck. Listening to
Panchangam keeps mind clear and gives good vibes, eliminates enemies and effects of bad dreams, gives
the result of taking a bath in holy Ganges and donating a cow, increases life span, brings good fortuneand good
offsprings. Agenda:

HARI Times MAR-MAY 2014
Dear Devotees,
Year 2014 started auspiciously with nearly 425 devotees participating in the New Year Havan. Month of January continued with Makara Sankranti / Pongal celebration with classical Carnatic music pre-sented by local artists and their children numbering almost 80 and attended by well over 400 devotees. We celebrated Bheesma Ekadhashi and Vasant Panchami programs. HARI school students and several commu-nity children performed Goddess Saraswati Puja. Shiva Puja, Rudrabhishek and Shiva Aarti were celebrated on the actual day of Maha Shivratri. Almost 85 families participated in the Shiva Puja and around 250 devo-tees attended for the event. Maha Shivratri day celebration with puja and classical dance program was at-tended by about 450 people. We thank you for your continued participation and support to this great institu-tion.
A few of our goals for 2014 were set by Mother Nature. Heavy and regular snow fall has not only in-creased the day – to –day expenses, but also have directed us towards fixing some structural damages and other unexpected repairs. We have replaced two of our well pumps and one pressure pump. We also are working on getting the restroom inside the priest quarters to be a family restroom for devotees with young children. We are looking for physical, intellectual and monetary help with respect to these projects and some more that are under conception.
We do have our main goals as to increase memberships, with emphasis on lifetime membership; in-vest in efforts to recruit the next generation-youth in the service of the community at large; and provide more resources to meet the religious and cultural needs of our community. With the help of our members, our goals are becoming reality. We would like to thank all those who have already paid their dues for 2014 and request other devotees to support HARI by becoming members and participate in HARI activities. Your mem-bership and generous donations are directly tied to the temple’s maintenance, day- to- day expenses, and quality programs. Please remember that you have given us the opportunity to work on behalf of HARI to serve its devotees and the community. Therefore, as a part of this community, please guide us with your suggestions for im-provements in our services to the community. You may direct your suggestions to haritemple.org or drop it off in the suggestion box/Hundi. We thank you for being a community we feel proud to be a part of and serve. Jai Shri Ram!
Mr. Hiten Amin Mrs. Meena Ravi Chairman President
