Unison Helps Harbor House KAUKAUNA — As part of its ongoing support of the local community and philosophy of “People Helping People,” Unison Credit Union made a donation of new pillows and bed sheets to Harbor House in Appleton. Recently, the organization had a small fire that damaged part of the shelter’s third floor residential area. Several bedrooms sustained water damage therefore needing to replace the bedding for 65 residents. Unison has had a connection to Harbor House since 2011 when the credit union collected donations during its annual Christmas Charity Drive. “Direct financial support and other in-kind contributions to an invaluable service organization such as Harbor House exemplify the ‘People Helping People’ philosophy of not only Unison, but the entire credit union movement,” said President/CEO Mark Hietpas. “Involvement and volunteering by our staff serves to strengthen ties with the communities and members we serve.” Harbor House Domestic Abuse Programs leads a community-wide partnership in the awareness and prevention of domestic violence and abuse and offers safety and support to diverse families and individuals in crisis. It is the only organization offering safe haven and outreach programming to victims and survivors of domestic abuse throughout Outagamie and Calumet counties. Established in 1932, Unison Credit Union has more than $169 million in assets and a membership of over 18,300. Unison offers a wide range of financial products and services to its members with multiple branch locations and electronic account access. Anyone living or working in Outagamie, Calumet, Brown and Manitowoc counties and the cities and townships of Neenah and Menasha in Winnebago County can enjoy the products and services of Unison Credit Union.
