GIG HARBOR’S HISTORYIS GOLDEN

Welcome!

It is a pleasure to have you join us for the Harbor HistoryMuseum’s 13th Annual History Rocks Dinner & Auction.Your presence tonight is a testament to your dedication and

support for the museum’s mission of collecting, preserving, andsharing our region’s history, and we greatly appreciate yourattendance at tonight’s event.

In 1964, a group of nine women embarked on a journeyto preserve the rich history of Gig Harbor, creating the GigHarbor Peninsula Historical Society. These women dutifullylaid the foundation for what would become the HarborHistory Museum and, as the museum celebrates its 50th yearin 2014, we’re taking this opportunity to honor and thankour members, volunteers and supporters – past, present, and

future – for all you have done and all you continue to do. Wewould not be who we are today without all of you.

Thank you for joining us this evening! We hope you eat, drink and laugh and, most importantly, continue your supportof the museum.

Cheers,

Mary Grubbs and Anne Kilcup

HISTORY ROCKS AND SODO OUR SUPPORTERSGood Evening and welcome to History Rocks!

In honor of the Gig Harbor Peninsula Historical Society’s 50th Anniver-

sary, this year’s History Rocks is a Golden Jubilee. The Harbor History

Museum and the Gig Harbor Peninsula Historical Society have been a

part of the community since 1964 and we’re pleased to honoring our

countless supporters who have made the museum a cultural corner-

stone in the community.

From its beginnings as a Basket Social, History Rocks has grown to be

one of Gig Harbor’s premier philanthropic and social events. Each year,

dedicated supporters like you gather together to eat, drink and raise the

vital funding for the special and permanent exhibits, student educationinitiatives, and community programs that de ne the Harbor History

Museum as a cultural cornerstone for the region.

If you haven’t visited the museum before we encourage you to stop by.

The Harbor History Museum is a 14,500 square foot cultural center

in the heart of Gig Harbor’s historic waterfront district and featuresa professionally designed exhibition galleries, a Maritime Gallery that

focuses on commercial shipbuilding, and the Midway Schoolhouse, one

of the Kitsap Peninsula’s rst one-room schoolhouses. At the museum,

history of the region comes alive - and you are a key player in its

success. Thank you for your support!
