Could you tell us something about your history with Happy Hour Skateboards?Ok, lets see. It was around 2001 me, Jerry Hsu and Marc Johnson came to Finland to do an Enjoi demo tour. I believe it was at a demo in turku where i first met Jake. We all were really so stoked on the way he thought about skateboarding. On that trip I fell in love with Finland, and kept in touch with Jake, he is one of the funnest guys to skate with, so every summer I would come back to Finland we would meet up. He was part of a little crew called Pub 26, they skated and drank. I liked skating and drinking too, so i started to hang out with those guys a little, thats where i met Kempas. I think it was like my 3rd visit or something when i heard Jake and Kempas started a company. HAPPY HOUR! what a great name, you know it is a good idea when you hear it and wish you thought of it! Perfect name. great logos and graphics...I remember being so stoked on the idea and name and Jake gave me some of the 1st tee shirts. I actually have footage in the Enjoi bag of suck video wearing Happy Hour shirts, hahah!! I remember coming back to california and having a meeting with the president of our distribution to see if we could get Happy Hour distributed in the states. Unfortunately that didn’t work out, but i was so stoked that those guys loved skateboarding so much that they made their own brand. Next summer I went with the Happy Hour team to estonia to a contest. So much fun! I learned so much finnish on that trip. Yeah, i think that was right around the beginning of Happy Hour forming.

We’ve come a long way with Happy Hour Skate-boards and it’s our 10 year anniversary this year. What is your favorite graphic from us?my all time favorite is the pink flamingo Miami Vice graphic. Clean, great colors, perfect. I had that shirt and wore it till it fell apart.

What do you think about your Happy Hour Skate-boards guest model graphic?So stoked, the Happy Hour vibe is awesome, the videos are always fun. I’m really happy to be part of something that i have always thought was really special.
